Director - Loveland Public Library (CO) The Loveland Public Library<https://www.lovelandpubliclibrary.org/> seeks its next Director to continue the library's mission to inform, enrich and inspire a strong, engaged community. Established in 1901, Loveland Public Library serves almost 77,000 city residents from a single 57,255 sq. ft. location that was renovated in 2010. With a budget of $3 million and 32 FTE, the library provides innovative services collections and programs to meet the changing needs of the community. Key initiatives include implementing the 2022-2025 strategic plan; the opportunity to build a great team; strengthening the library's role in the community-especially for patrons with diverse backgrounds; and assessing the current library infrastructure and service model. Located 45 miles north of Denver and part of the growing Fort Collins-Loveland metropolitan area, the region boasts numerous best places to live awards and serves as the gateway to the Rockies. Loveland blends a small-town atmosphere with a strong sense of community and a thriving arts scene. The city is a beautiful example of mountain geography to the West and sweeping grasslands to the East. With 300 days of sunshine annually, the area offers year-round outdoor activities with hiking trails, bike paths, and mountain ranges to explore. The arts are at the heart of Loveland - with four outdoor sculpture gardens, three foundries, nine museums and galleries, and two performing arts centers Loveland embraces its creative spirit through events like Art in the Park Loveland, its annual sculpture show, and over 475 pieces of art in the city's public collection. The city has a diverse economy with a growing bioscience industry, aviation, health and wellness, and craft brewing scene - with two local breweries winning the World Beer Cup in 2015 and 2016. Reporting to the Deputy City Manager, the Director is responsible for the leadership and vision of the City's library and staff; plans, manages and directs the operations, programs, services, and personnel to continually develop a modern community center for learning and engagement. Responsibilities include but are not limited to developing library policies and procedures; leading the library's strategic planning efforts; establishing and monitoring performance measures; reviewing and analyzing programs, operations, and associated costs; evaluating overall results and providing regular reports to the City Manager's office and City Council as needed, and serving as staff liaison to the Library Board finance committee and Library Board. Qualifications: Required qualifications include a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science or Master's Degree in a related field such as Public Administration, Education, or Social Work; six years of professional and progressively responsible library experience; four years of administration, management & leadership of paid staff including hiring, discipline, performance management, evaluation, staff development, conflict resolution & problem-solving; and experience working collaboratively with diverse individuals and groups. Anticipated starting salary range of $115,000-$128,000 (with placement negotiable, dependent upon experience and qualifications) and an excellent fringe benefits package that includes access to a private health clinic for use by employees and their dependents only at no additional charge. Holocaust Speaker Recommendation

The Alpena County George N. Fletcher Public Library hosted Holocaust survivor, author, and educator Irene Miller in the past and she has let us know she is ready to resume in-person events. We had a huge turnout to hear her speak about her experiences as a child during the Holocaust- fleeing Poland to Russia, being sent to a Siberian work camp, and an orphanage in Uzbekistan. She was an engaging and inspiring speaker. You can learn more about her at her website: http://www.irenemillerspeaker.com/home She is based out of Bloomfield Hills, so the Library provided overnight accommodations and reimbursed her mileage from her engagement the day before, in addition to an honorarium. We are especially interested in candidates who will contribute to a campus climate that supports equity, diversity, and belonging. The Outreach, Engagement and Instruction Librarian will work closely with librarians, faculty, and campus partners to lead and develop library initiatives that support student success, equity, recruitment, and retention. They will design and implement effective and innovative library programming to engage the campus community in a collaborative and equitable fashion. The Outreach, Engagement and Instruction Librarian provides a variety of library instruction services to support the College’s liberal arts curriculum and promote information/digital literacy. Library instruction services include general library orientation and information/digital literacy sessions, course-specific and assignment-specific library instruction, and course-embedded library instruction. Working in conjunction with the Director of the Library, and with the library staff, teaching faculty, and administration, this program of instruction should reach all segments of the campus community. This position is responsible for building relationships with both academic and non-academic units across campus in order to raise awareness about the various ways that the library can serve as an essential partner in facilitating the success of our diverse body of undergraduate students. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. Albion College is an anti-racist institution. READsquared: site sign-up now open!

The Library of Michigan is providing public libraries across Michigan READsquared<https://gcc02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.reads…> for tracking their online reading programs through this coming year (details in the email below). The opportunity to submit a site request is now open<https://mistate.readsquared.com/Signup.aspx?State=MI#!>, with the option to register for two live trainings scheduled for 10am on March 31st or 2pm on April 19th. Please do not sign-up for a site without approval from, or being designated by your, library director. Branches need to sign up under their district, however branches can individualize various programs within the platform. Libraries already using READsquared will keep their current sites and should be contacted about refunds directly by READsquared. This support will have the option to be renewed by LM on an annual basis. READsquared is provided in part thanks to the support of the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
