Hello all, I am asking again if anyone has information to share about people counters. I had more requests for sharing info than actual info shared. I'm aware of the zoom presentation by SenSource coming up next week. Does anyone use anyone/anything else? We're interested along the whole spectrum. We used to have an infrared interrupt the beam sort of counter until it stopped working, and currently we use a manual clicker where staff click for each person coming in the doors. If your library counts patron visits, how do you do it? If you have a machine/service, what type/brand do you use and how much did/does it cost? I will share results with the listserv. Aanii, Over the years there has been an unofficial interest group in the state for Native library workers and those serving in Tribal libraries. It has not been particularly active in the last few years. Several of those involved are hoping to revitalize this group and there are a couple of projects on the horizon that might be of interest to this group, so we are hoping to make it more widely known so that anyone who wants to be involved has that opportunity. She currently serves as the firm President and Chair of the Executive Committee. Her entire career has focused on the representation of municipalities and public entities. Anne has extensive experience in drafting and reviewing ordinances and policies, serving as general counsel, counseling clients on Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Open Meetings Act issues, and working with communities on millage and Michigan Campaign Finance Issues. Anne also has an expertise in library law. Following the discussion / Q&A with Anne, we will open the floor for time to "Connect with Friends." Cohort opportunity: Transforming Teen Services

Transforming Teen Services is a nationwide initiative of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association. Transforming Teen Services aims to support and elevate teen services in libraries and other learning environments by integrating connected learning, computational thinking, and youth development to help build responsive services for and with teens. Library staff are uniquely positioned to positively impact teens as they grow into adults. By listening to teens and by creating opportunities aligned to their developmental needs and interests, we can create transformative, truly teen-centered library services. By offering connected learning and computational thinking opportunities to our teens, we can help them build skills that will prepare them for their futures. To better help our teens, this cohort will be exploring the how's and why's of teen services, reflecting back on our own youth, and discussing tips on creating more impactful teen programming. The cohort will meet Mondays from 1:00-3:30 PM ET, weekly for the following four weeks: Apr 19, 2021 Apr 26, 2021 May 3, 2021 May 10, 2021 Full participation, with video and microphone, some independent reading, and attendance is required.
