HP Reveal Replacement...

Hello Library Community - We were using HP Reveal with our Teen Newsletter. The free program allowed us to insert live videos in to the paper newsletter and people with the HP Reveal app could watch the videos. As HP Reveal is no longer available we are looking for another free program that would allow us to continue to do this. Is anyone using something that you might want to recommend? Questions of library privacy and training

Does anyone know of any training opportunities specifically dealing with library privacy? I am looking for in-depth training on library privacy, legal issues, application of case law, etc. I want as much detail as possible about all the legal protections specific to libraries in the state of Michigan. We are being questioned about our need for generic library user accounts and would also be interested in learning what policies others have on the usage of generic user accounts. Position Title: Substitute Librarian Reports to: Adult and Youth Services Coordinators Hours: As needed, including evenings and weekends $15.00/hr. for candidates enrolled in an ALA-accredited Master’s Program $18.00/hr. for Master’s Degree from ALA-accredited library science program Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Adult and Youth Coordinator, Substitute Librarians are responsible for providing professional library services to Auburn Hills Public Library users of all ages. Average shifts vary from four to six hours, based on need. Primary Duties: * Serve as reference and readers advisory to library users in-person or by phone * Assist with computer users, including put not limited to; printing, opening programs, etc. * Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications/Skills: * Must have a Bachelor’s Degree from accredited institution * One year experience in public libraries preferred * Flexibility and dependability * Ability to work with users of varied backgrounds * Computer application proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Internet * Excellent verbal and written communication skills Essential Physical Functions: * Ability to lift and carry boxes up to 25 lbs. and push carts weighing up to 200 lbs. * Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time, and the ability to bend, reach, and stoop when assisting library users. Greetings! Applications for this quarter's Continuing Education Stipends are due by March 31. Trying to decide what event to attend? Past stipend recipients have this to say: Library Publishing Forum (May 4-6) This was my fourth time attending this conference and it is always a fantastic mix of both big picture ideas, and practical suggestions on ways to continue to support your library publishing programs, as well as great networking opportunities. Association for Rural & Small Libraries (ARSL) (September 30-October 3) The ARSL conference in Vermont was my first time to attend a national small and rural library event and I was very pleased with what I learned and the relationships I established with library personnel from across the country. This conference was amazing and it was a wonderful experience. I brought home so many new and exciting ideas. I highly recommend the ARSL Annual Conference! YALSA Symposium (November 6-8) Each of the sessions I attended proved to be outstanding and left me writing at a frantic pace as I attempted to jot down all the ideas I wanted to implement in my library.
