Hail, the Great Brain! We're looking at replacing our current drinking fountain with one that includes a bottle filling option. We're looking refrigerated, but maybe not filtered, as I understand that the filters can be expensive and problematic. Do you have such a fountain? Which brand did you choose? How do you like it? Greetings! Are you from a small or rural library? Do you have idea or successes you would like to share with your peers? If so, the Library of Michigan would like to invite you to submit a proposal for the 2020 Small & Rural Libraries conference. The call for proposals is open through Monday, October 7. Submit your session proposal online at https://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/5146323/2020-SRLC-Proposal-Submission-Form. The conference will be held April 13-April 15, 2020 at the Grand Traverse Resort in Acme, Michigan. The conference is a specially crafted to reach the informational needs of small and rural library staff throughout Michigan. The three-day event features exhibitors, awards, keynote speakers and an array of sessions geared to libraries serving small and rural communities. Handling Conflict and Coming to Agreement - Training Opportunities - REGISTER NOW!

For anyone who handles complex conversations and meetings in your library or community there are four opportunities to learn how better to handle conflict and come to agreement. The registration fee is just $40 per person and includes lunch! These sessions are small and spots are very limited and available first-come, first-served, so register today! In partnership with the Library of Michigan (with funding provided in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services), MCLS will be offering four more trainings on facilitation presented by We Can Work It Out, LLC<http://www.wecanworkitoutllc.com/> this fall. The workshops will be on the topics of "Handling Conflict" and "Coming to Agreement," and will be hosted at four libraries across Michigan. These trainings are open to all staff of Michigan libraries.
