Laser Tag provider

Hey Everyone, I am considering having laser tag as the closing event for our Summer Library Program next year but I don't see anyone in the Flint Area that will bring laser tag to my library (and set up and run it). 1. Has anyone had a laser tag event at your library? How did it go? 2. I found a company called Kombat Laser Tag that seems to do mobile laser tag events but has anyone actually had them do a program for them? The cheapest package starts at $500 and I hesitate to spend that much on a company that I haven't heard anything about. The call for nominations for candidates for the 2020 Michigan Library Association (MLA) Board of Directors Elections is now open! Do you know someone who would be a great addition to the MLA Board of Directors? The Nominating and Leadership Development Committee (NLDC) is seeking nominations/self-nominations for three member-at-large directors as well as the President-elect position, with terms beginning in July 2020 and ending in June 2023. NLDC will review all nominations and may also seek additional individuals to meet identified needs. All nominees must be members of MLA at the time that the slate is presented to the Board of Directors for approval. Note: nominations will be reviewed and not all will move forward in the process. Job Posting: Director, Commerce Township Community Library

The Board of Trustees of the Charter Township of Commerce, Michigan are seeking a Library Director who is ready to lead their library team in continuing its excellence in service and to build and foster new community partnerships for continuing success. The Commerce Township Community Library is a Class V library. It is a department of the Township and serves over 40,000 citizens of Commerce Township, MI, including the Village of Wolverine Lake. In January 2017, the library opened its beautiful, new 35,000-square-foot building in the north end of the Township’s Dodge Park V – at the famous corner of “Commerce and Commerce, in Commerce.” The library is part of The Library Network consortium and operates under its shared automation system, CARL. Responsibilities: Under the general direction of the seven-member elected Commerce Township Board of Trustees and the appointed Library Advisory Board, the Director is responsible for all library operations and overall administration and management of the library and its services. Specific areas of responsibility include board relations; planning, organization and evaluation of library services; general administration and financial management including development and fundraising; internal and external communications; and professional and staff development. Director: Charlevoix Public Library Background The Charlevoix Public Library seeks a dynamic, creative and motivated individual as Director. Charlevoix is located on the shores of Lake Michigan, Round Lake and Lake Charlevoix in Northern Michigan. Located in close proximity to Petoskey, Boyne City and Traverse City, Charlevoix offers many cultural historical and recreational venues and opportunities year-round. The library, considered by many as the" living room of the community", serves 9600 residents and a growing summer tourist population. It employs twenty professional and paraprofessional staff. The successful candidate will be an approachable, competent and innovative leader with a penchant for community relations, understands the value of internal and external customer service and can lead the library in exciting and innovative ways. Key Expectations The library director provides the institutional leadership and public persona of the organization reporting to the Board of Trustees. The director works in partnership with the board to ensure the organization fulfills its mission and creates strategies that guarantee its future success. The director is accountable for the programmatic and fiscal integrity of the organization in keeping with the philosophy set by the Board of Trustees. The library director works with considerable independence subject to board policies and directives but is expected to demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative, creativity and mature judgment in the performance of duties.
