Four New Michigan Code Books: Bulk Purchase Opportunity Available Through TLN

All, We are offering four new Michigan code books as a bulk purchase opportunity through The Library Network. We place the orders, ship to you via RIDES or TLN delivery, pay the invoice, and invoice your library. The invoice for your library is included with your shipment. We assess a $1.00 per book charge in order to partially offset the cost of this project. The prices noted are list; there may be a small discount depending upon how many copies we order of a given title. That said, the real savings here comes with the efficiency of having a single entity, in this case TLN, place a single purchase order for these books, as opposed to dozens of individual libraries having to do so. Here are the four titles that are being offered for bulk purchase: 1. 2015 Michigan Plumbing Code: $76.00. Goes effective April 20, 2017. 2. 2015 Michigan Building Code: $128.00. Goes effective April 20, 2017. 3. 2015 Michigan Mechanical Code: $76.00. Goes effective April 12, 2017. 4. 2015 Michigan Rehabilitation Code for Existing Buildings: $81.00. Went effective December 13, 2016 (oops, this one slipped by me. I try to catch all of them but not so much with this one it would seem). Join MLA on Friday, April 28 for Community Collaborations: Mental Health First Aid, an interactive workshop designed to help library professionals provide effective services to patrons affected by mental illness. Below you can find information about the availability of scholarships for first time ARSL Conference attendees. ARSL is the Association of Rural and Small Libraries national organization. Please visit the ARSL site for information and requirements for the application process. We are excited to announce that the information and application form for the 2017 ARSL Conference Scholarships are now available at the ARSL website at http://arsl.info/annual-conference-awards-calendar/award-scholarship-info-2/. These scholarships are for first time attendees so anyone who has not attended an ARSL conference is invited to apply. Three scholarships are awarded. This tenure-track faculty librarian position provides guidance, supervision, and leadership for a team of liberal arts librarians and professional support staff from a variety of backgrounds and mentors library faculty and staff in connecting their work to the libraries' mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities. The individual in this position works collaboratively with all department heads and the libraries’ leadership team to facilitate communication and teamwork, to provide excellent public services, and to strategically convey the importance of the library and its services to the higher education community. The successful candidate will directly assist in furthering the libraries' outreach, collection development, scholarly communications, and instructional goals. GVSU librarians are full members of the university faculty and must possess the potential to fulfill the requirements for promotion and tenure, and are expected to engage in scholarship and professional development, institutional and professional service, and faculty governance.
