MCLS Linked Data Summit: Call for proposals

We would like to invite you to submit a proposal<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfSxTnPnC9qVKq5e8-VUTiLxdnwshkOc_Z…> for a Linked Data Summit to be held on March 16, 2017. This day-long, multi-state event will take place both in Lansing, Michigan and Indianapolis, Indiana. Speakers and participants will interact both in-person and remotely. The summit will feature a BIBFRAME overview and update from Beacher Wiggins (Director for Acquisitions and Bibliographic Access, Library of Congress) and a presentation from Linked Data industry leader Zepheira<https://zepheira.com/> on the implications for libraries. This summit is an opportunity for librarians to explore the possibilities of what a fully integrated Linked Data world means for libraries and our communities. This event will also provide updates and presentations exploring what is already happening to make that possibility a reality. We invite program proposals from September 14, 2016 to November 7, 2016. Proposed programs should be either 20 minutes or 45 minutes in length, including time for questions. Proposals should be grounded in experience. They may explore projects, plans, collaborations, data analysis as well as other aspects of Linked Data creation and implementation. Proposals could relate to, but are not restricted to, any of the following topics: * A single library’s experience participating in a Linked Data project, such as Zepheira’s Libhub Early Adopter Program or the Library.Link Network * A Linked Data demonstration project in a shared catalog environment * Experience with a specific Linked Data product (e.g., SirsiDynix BLUEcloud Visibility, Innovative Linked Data) * Advocacy for Linked Data with vendors * Libraries engaging with wider Linked Data community efforts, outside of libraries * Linked Data related research and standards activities * What your library is doing to prepare for the Linked Data environment—Planning your linked data project * Exposing cultural heritage collections to the web via Linked Data * Incorporating linked data into technical services workflows * Analytics to capture uses of the Linked Data * Technical advice * Innovative ways to use Linked Data that further your library’s goals and create engaging experiences for your digital users Please submit a 200 word maximum proposal<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfSxTnPnC9qVKq5e8-VUTiLxdnwshkOc_Z…> for your presentation. Hi Jaema, We don't have self service. Our fax machine is in the back room/office area. There is a window between the public and office areas of the library that is next to the fax machine, which helps patrons feel more secure about a stranger walking off with their faxes. Our cover sheets are free, but individual pages are a dollar a page.
