We have a Board member who insists on going electronic but wasn't sure if they had to be approved by the whole Board first. Is there a method we need to adopt? Greetings! This year's New & Advanced Director workshops will be held on September 15 & 16 at the Hannah Community Center in East Lansing, MI. First-time library directors and library directors new to Michigan are required to attend one or both of these workshop. * All new directors are required to attend the New Director Workshop on September 15 within 12 months of appointment. * New directors of class 4 through class 6 libraries are required to attend the Advanced Director Workshop within 24 months of appointment. These services include: assisting patrons with public computer use, delivery of reference, information and reader’s advisory services for patrons of all ages, library programming, library displays, using library technology to meet the needs of the community served. Position responsibilities assigned primarily in the areas of early literacy services, youth program planning, and outreach. *REQUIREMENTS:* - Minimum high school degree.
