Hi All--Skip Dyson, Scholastic trainer, will be doing 3 webinar trainings on BookFlix in MeL on October 6-8 all at 3:00 pm. Each has a separate link/login. I've listed each below, so if you can attend, please note on your calendar which one you'll attend so you will be easily able to login on the scheduled day in October. BookFlix is an eResource that you can use for early literacy development; it's great for storytime--project the book on your whiteboard, big screen so all can see! We've designed this year's MAME Annual Conference to include all educators and public librarians. Our theme is "Connect the Dots," and we'd like to strengthen our connection with public librarians. AWE Multi-State Purchase Available for Michigan Libraries

The Library of Michigan has a strong commitment to early literacy. Not only do we support that commitment with our book programs--Michigan Reads! and Michigan Notable Books--but we have also added a strong collection of early literacy subscription eResources to the Michigan eLibrary. Michigan children being able to read at grade level by 3rd grade is a goal we wholeheartedly support and work to achieve. AWE Digital Learning Solutions as recently approached LM about their 2014 Multi-State Special Group Purchase plan available now through December 15th. In February 2014, 95 youth librarians, youth library workers, and students gathered at Clinton-Macomb Public Library for a truly excellent day of professional development, idea-sharing, networking, and learning, unconference style. In 2015, we'll gather April 24th at Kalamazoo Public Library. Hosted by Lisa Mulvenna (Clinton-Macomb PL), Anne Clark (Alice and Jack Wirt PL, Bay City), and Andrea Vernola (Kalamazoo PL), the MI KidLib Unconference<https://sites.google.com/a/sotomorowblog.com/mikidlib2015/> will feature relevant and engaging sessions decided on by participants at the conference. Software for wireless with login requirements - do you recommend one?

Hi, My library has recently had two notices of copyright infringement from our internet provider. While I understand from our lawyer that the Library is not liable to the copyright owner under DCMA's Safe Harbor clause, the internet provider has mentioned in its notice that it can drop us as a customer if the illegal downloading continues. To that end, I would like to buy software that requires wireless users to have a library card so that we can identify and possibly suspend an infringer's use of the internet; I believe that the internet provider would be happy with that. The 2015 volume of Advances in Library Administration and Organization will focus on the future of library staffing. ALAO offers long-form research, comprehensive discussions of theoretical developments, and in-depth accounts of evidence-based practice in library administration and organization. The series aims to answer the questions, ³How have libraries been managed, and how should they be managed?² It goes beyond a platform for the sharing of research to provide a venue for dialogue across issues, in a way that traditional peer reviewed journals cannot.
