2022 National Survey of E-rate Applicants

Funds For Learning is conducting our 12th nationwide survey of E-rate applicants. The aggregate results will be presented to members of Congress and the FCC in July. It is essential that national leaders hear directly from schools and libraries about their internet needs and the efficacy of the E-rate funding program. This year, the FCC is considering revamping the E-rate competitive bidding process Last year, a total of 2,164 applicants participated in the survey, including 59 applicants in MI. SURVEY SPECIFICS This year it is even more important that applicants have a venue to share their feedback. Our goal is to gather 2,600 responses, including 59 from MI. A higher number of responses increases the statistical significance of the data. * The survey consists of 34 primary questions, plus 6 more optional demographic items. It takes about 8 minutes to complete. * The results are completely confidential. Only aggregate data is reported. * Many questions have been repeated for several years in a row. This allows us to monitor trends from year-to-year. * Funds For Learning does not market our services to respondents, individual responses are confidential. Program Recommendation: Madeline Boss

Good morning, Last evening, our library hosted Detroit-based poet Madeline Boss. I reached out to her last year to personally invite her because I loved her first poetry collection. I was worried that she wouldn't want to make the drive, but she was eager and excited to come all the way to the UP! She spent the evening reading some poems, talking about her background and current life, explaining her writing process to us, giving tips on self-publication, leading a free write with the audience, and a Q&A at the end. I was very impressed with her and the audience loved her; I had several patrons come up to me at the end to thank me for bringing her here. The program was well attended, and we had a wide age range in the audience, from middle schoolers to retirement age. Library Barcode service

Hello everyone, Our Library currently uses the Avery Labels website to print our library barcodes for our collection, but we have found the site to be slow, confusing, and tedious. I was wondering what other libraries use for their barcodes (the stickers that go on library materials, not cards) and if there are better options out there. Thank you in advance!
