Call for donations MLA Annual Conference 2022 silent auction event

The Michigan Library Association (MLA) will be hosting a silent auction at our Annual Conference on October 19-21, 2022 in Port Huron, Michigan. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the MLA Scholarship Fund and MLA's Equity Grant Fund. We are asking for donations of any kind to this auction: library bling, vendor give-a-ways, new books, posters, a weekend stay in a fabulous location, basically anything which could either stand alone as an auction item or could be placed in a basket along with other items. New MCLS phone numbers coming in July

Next month, MCLS will be getting new phone numbers! Our main numbers, (517) 394-2420 and toll-free (800) 530-9019, will remain the same, but all group phone numbers (e.g. Training, MeLCat Help, MeL eResources Help, etc.) and staff direct numbers will be changing. The changes will happen on July 1, 2022. Once the new phone numbers are in effect, our website Contact page<https://www.mcls.org/contact> will be updated. We will also post an update to our electronic mailing lists and update each staff member's phone number in their email signatures. Keep an eye out for our new numbers in July! Good afternoon, Allegan District Library is hiring an Adult Programming and Marketing Coordinator. This is a brand-new position for our library. The Adult Programming and Marketing Coordinator plans, organizes, and conducts library programming for adults from age 18+. Plans, organizes, and conducts outreach activities for community members of all ages, working closely with the Youth Services Librarian for youth outreach. Works with the Library Director and Assistant Director to lead the library’s marketing, outreach, and promotional efforts. This position is full-time, benefited (health insurance, short- and long-term disability, life insurance, an HRA plan for vision and dental, and retirement). This position is hourly, non-exempt, starting at $17/hour. The ideal candidate will have a relevant Bachelor's degree, two years of experience in adult services, working with adults of various ages, and demonstrated experience in marketing and outreach. Hi everyone! The Iosco-Arenac District Library has some items left over from our surplus sale that we are looking to find new homes for. We have one colibri machine with some leftover book cover materials available to anyone who wants it. I could put it into RIDES if someone wants it. The other items available are 65 clear Demco Plastic Book display shelving units. These are currently retailing for $134.99 each on Demco but we are offering them for FREE to anyone who wants to drive up to the East Tawas Library and take as many as you want. Two Tenure-Track Faculty Librarian Positions Open at Western Michigan University Western Michigan University is seeking two liaison librarians to fill full-time, benefits-eligible, tenure-track faculty positions in the WMU Libraries' Instruction and Outreach Department. These are entry-level positions at the rank of Assistant Professor with a starting salary of $64,250. One position will serve the sciences, including Biological Sciences; Chemistry; Environmental and Sustainability Studies; Geography, Environment, and Tourism; Geological and Environmental Sciences; Physics; Mathematics; and Statistics. The other serves the humanities: English, Communication, Spanish, Philosophy, Gender & Women's Studies, Comparative Religion, and World Languages & Literatures.
