Hi all - Taller Than they Appear Musical group, Taller Than They Appear, will perform a special program weaving original songs following the Michigan seasons. Themes also touch on Michigan's indigenous animals, conjuring in song a playful perspective on their habits and habitats. Join us for some beautiful music evocative of our wondrous state. All ages are welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Library Director-Marion (IA) Public Library Inspire and build for the future as Marion Public Library <http://www.marionpubliclibrary.org/> 's next Library Director. The Board of Trustees of the Marion Public Library wants a leader to contribute to building and sustaining Marion as a creative city that attracts and nurtures talented people, mobilizes ideas, stimulates innovation, and encourages diversity. Working with the City of Marion, the Library is a center of cultural vitality enhancing the quality of life through library services for all Marion residents. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop a new Strategic Plan and continue to move forward with the Library's innovative mixed-use building project-Inspire-Building Marion's Future-initiated during the 2008 City's Imagine8 visioning project. The proposed new Library will go from 24,000 square feet to 48,000 square feet and allow for the development and implementation of additional library programs and services. The Marion Public Library staff (20FTE) circulated 808,000+ items in 2014 to its 34,000+ residents and borrowers in the Metro Library Network (Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha, and Marion). The $1.7mil annual operating budget is funded primarily through a City appropriation with additional financial support from the Friends of the Library and the Library Foundation. The Marion Public Library is a community gathering place that offers everyone easy access to information, recreation, and cultural resources. The City of Marion's 36,774 population makes it the second largest city in the Cedar Rapids metro area and one of the fastest growing communities in Iowa. Marion was recently recognized at the "20th Best Small City in America" by WalletHub, a website helping consumers and small-business owners make financial decisions. Marion residents take pride in their exceptional schools, eclectic array of cultural and entertainment offerings (Uptown Marion has been recognized as a Cultural and Entertainment District), sixteen beautiful city parks, a mix of small and large businesses and a participant in the Blue Zones Project since 2013. Past Perfect Software

Munson Medical Center is using Past Perfect to digitize archival material related to the hospital's history. We are not using the internet accessible aspect at this time. Our collection is primarily documents, but this allows the documents to be accessed without physical contact with the papers, etc. It has a relatively intuitive format which is easily adapted to by anyone with experience in library cataloging. Our local Traverse City History Center also uses this program and has been able to make them accessible to the public. The affordability factor is another positive with Past Perfect. 16 Free Entrance Days in '16 in the National Parks

All, In celebration of the National Park Service's 100 year anniversary in 2016, NPS has designated 16 days in '16 as entrance fee-free days. http://www.nps.gov/findapark/feefreeparks.htm There are a total of 409 national parks, 127 of which charge an entrance fee. The entrance fee for these 127 NPS parks will be waived on the 16 designated days in '16. http://www.nps.gov/findapark/feefreeparksbystate.htm This sounds somewhat similar to a Michigan-based program with which you might be familiar. I wonder if there is any possible symmetry here? Hmm...
