Greetings... Has anyone recently replaced a printer connected to a Minolta MS6000 MKII microfilm scanner? The Minolta printer attached to our microfilm scanner has died and we're wondering if there is another printer that would work with the scanner. Thanks for any information! Tech help question

Hi all, We got a request and I want to ask your opinion before I move forward on it. We, like many libraries, offer tech help. A patron requested that we help her set up an E-Harmony account and I am not sure if this is something we should be doing as a library. I know dating websites require a lot of personal information, and this one even requires billing information. Do any of you have advice on this situation? *EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:* *Job Duties:* · Performs all duties assigned in the ILS Module accurately and efficiently; problem solves patron and catalog issues; assists Library patrons while employing the Library’s and City of Novi’s customer service principles. · Performs workroom duties and other tasks as assigned, including sorting and loading carts for shelving; shelving of materials; shelf reading; processing holds, returns, and other materials from delivery; troubleshooting and maintenance operations of the AST System; answering main phone, directing calls, and making public address announcements as needed; and registering cash, check, and credit card transactions. · Adapts and responds to multiple priorities, interruptions, and demands; retains knowledge and stays up-to-date on current Library policies and procedures; communicates effectively with patrons, co-workers, and professional colleagues; resolves problem situations and collaborates across departments in a positive manner. · Assists with opening and closing procedures for the Support Services Department. · Assists with the overall maintenance and orderliness of the Library’s collections, display areas, and department areas. · Assists in accomplishing the Library’s and the Support Service Department’s goals. · Assists, as assigned, to perform Outreach Services duties. Children/Teen Services Job Description General Description: This individual will develop, implement, and supervise children's and teen services provided by the library. This individual will also assist in supervising the daily operation of the library as assigned, and provides assistance to library support staff as needed. Reports to, and is evaluated by, the Library Director. Examples of Duties: * Coordinates and directs programs of service to children and teens and assists with adult programming * Makes expenditures within the budget allotment * Keeps accurate records of all children's library income, including fines, gifts, and all library expenditures * Keeps accurate records of all children's programs, reported monthly to the director * Develops and proposes service programming, policies and procedures related to children and teen services in the library * Monitors the YA and Children's Rooms after school * Monitors the quality and effectiveness of existing programs and practices * Keeps the YA and Children's Rooms organized and in order * Assists Library Director with collection development and cataloging of new materials * Assists patrons with questions about public access computers or computer functions * Answers telephone and provides routine reference service to patrons * Checks books, magazines and other library holdings in and out at the circulation desk and collects fines using an automated circulation system * Maintains close contact with the Library Director to ensure administration of quality service * Helps oversee library pages and or volunteers * Performs other related duties as required Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * A library science degree or education degree * Experience working with children * Knowledge of children's and teen literature and general interests * Excellent written and oral communication skills * Experiences in office practices, especially helping to prepare budgets and some basic accounting procedures * Willing to obtain library certification and further training in professional skills This is a full-time 40 hour a week position with some evening and Saturday work. The starting pay for this position is $10.50 per hour dependent upon experience. Full-time benefits include insurance (20% co-pay), pension (employee contribution), holiday pay, vacation pay and sick pay.
