Organization of Youth/Family DVDs
by Keegan Sulecki 22 Jan '18

22 Jan '18

Hi everyone, Sending this out for a fellow staff member... We are reconsidering the organization of the youth DVD collection and would like to take a survey of how other Michigan libraries choose to organize their collections. It would be helpful if you could give us feedback on the following: Do you separate based on rating(G & PG) or do you keep them together but provide a label for the rating? How much information do you present on the spines (first letter of title, 3 letters of title, or whole title, etc)? If you label and organize by more than the first letter what kind of impact does the greater organization have on your staff's time and ability to keep things in order? Do you do anything special with tv shows/series? Thank you for your time! FW: Commercial Note Sharing Sites - MyCourseHero
by Caryn Noel 22 Jan '18

Mea Culpa! I apologize, I sent an incorrect link (subconscious, no doubt). Here's the link to view My Course Hero: https://CourseHero.com<https://coursehero.com/> Thanks again for all your insight, Caryn From: Caryn Noel Sent: Monday, January 22, 2018 10:33 AM To: 'michlib-l(a)mcls.org' Subject: Commercial Note Sharing Sites - MyCourseHero Hello Collective Brain! Please excuse any cross postings - perhaps this is aimed towards the academics, but I am positive that the public librarians have seen this as well. Would love to hear all responses and opinions! Has anyone had to educate their students about My Course Hero (www.mycoursehero.com) or any other commercial note (or test) sharing sites? Here at Walsh College, we are finding they are creating absolute chaos and confusion for students regarding tutoring and plagiarism, as they are "such a timesaver". Literally, one of our students met a guy in a grocery store that told him about this resource! Okay, how come libraries can't get that type of hype? Anyway - How are your institutions, either through Academic Integrity committees or via your legal teams, dealing with the students? The sites themselves? Thanks again for your input, Caryn Caryn Noel, MLIS Library Director Walsh College cnoel(a)walshcollege.edu<mailto:cnoel@walshcollege.edu> 248.823.1254
