Posting on behalf of the TDL Director Search Committee and the Tamarack District Library Board: Director, Tamarack District Library, Lakeview, Montcalm County, Michigan Full-time, non-union, at-will position. The Board of the Tamarack District Library seeks a dynamic director to work with an experienced staff of 8 and 8 supportive Trustees. This Class III Library serves approximately 10,250 residents with one facility and 15 unstaffed outreach locations. The Tamarack District Library is a treasured community center, with a 10 year old building and a plethora of amenities for its patrons. The library has an operating millage in perpetuity and a consistently supportive community with many opportunities for community collaboration. The director is responsible for administering the $350,000 budget, policy development and implementation, collection management, library promotion, strategic planning, public relations, and personnel administration. The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree and two to four years of administrative experience - including at least 2 years of public library experience-and possess or be qualified to obtain a Level 3 Certificate from the Library of Michigan. An MLS from an ALA accredited program is preferred. The successful candidate will have a team approach to management, genuine concern for customer satisfaction, a pleasant demeanor, and a sense of humor. He or she must also be comfortable with technology. Lakeview in Montcalm County offers small town charm with access to urban amenities. Arts, collegial, and cultural opportunities abound in cities such as Lansing, Grand Rapids, and Big Rapids - all within a one hour radius of Montcalm County. TDL Director Position OPEN

Good afternoon, everyone - **Please excuse cross-postings. ** I've resigned as Director at TDL effective June 30th. The Board has requested that I plan to continue as Interim Director through September, and potentially as long as December, depending upon when a new director is found. For those enquiring minds who want to know, this change comes about because I'm recently engaged to an absolutely delightful man named Ben, and am moving to Grand Rapids after our wedding on August 4th. It has been a pure delight to work with the Board and staff here at TDL, and I continue to be amazed by the warmth and kindness of our patrons, so it's sad to contemplate leaving Tamarack and Lakeview. CSLP website temporarily down

On behalf of CSLP I would like to apologize for our website's instability over the past week or two. We are taking immediate steps to increase server capacity, with the hopes this will reduce the crashes. Over the next week or so, we will be working with our website provider to troubleshoot the underlying problem. Hopefully it can be identified quickly. We are hopeful adding additional server resources will alleviate the problems we have been experiencing while we work on resolving the core issue or issues.
