The Mideastern Michigan Library Cooperative Board of Trustees invites you to apply for the position of Cooperative Director. MMLC is one of eleven cooperatives in Michigan and its members - including 20 public library systems, 5 academic libraries, and 2 special libraries - are located in 10 counties in Michigan. Based in the historic Mott Foundation Building in vibrant Downtown Flint, Michigan, MMLC provides services for members as outlined in the organization's Plan of Service and Strategic Plan. Within that structure, the annual work plan is written to provide members with opportunities to experiment, learn, and grow through new ideas and initiatives. Responsibilities: The Director position requires excellent communication skills, a broad understanding of all types of libraries, extensive experience in management, demonstrated ability to advise and lead, a will to serve others, and a creative nature that welcomes innovation. Agenda: Special Needs Services Roundtable (SNSR) meeting 4/11/19 1 – 3 p.m. (Host: Mary Idema Pew Library, Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI) Welcome & Introductions Professional enrichment: 1 – 2 pm Discussion with Annie Belanger, Dean, University Libraries (GVSU) Topics: “Accessible Customer Service” and “Planning with Accessibility in Mind” Annie has over 20 years of experience focusing on accessibility, inclusion, and the student experience in libraries. cultural competency training in libraries

Hi, Can anyone recommend a cultural competency (or cultural awareness or cultural sensitivity) training they've had at their library? Or perhaps a webinar or another form of training that staff at your library took? It's fine if it's not a library specific training.
