Hi Michigan Team, This is a great opportunity to stimulate discussion about what supports our young people need at school. "Paper Tigers follows a year in the life of an alternative high school that has radically changed its approach to disciplining its students, becoming a promising model for how to break the cycles of poverty, violence and disease that affect families. " There is also a discussion guide: https://kpjrfilms.co/paper-tigers/about-the-film/resources/ (halfway down the page) and publicity materials. Jim Sporleder retired in 2014 as Principal of Lincoln High School in Walla Walla, WA. Under Jim’s leadership, Lincoln High School became a “Trauma Informed” school, gaining national attention due to a dramatic drop in out of school suspensions, increased graduation rates and the number of students going on to post-secondary education. These dramatic changes at Lincoln caught the attention of Jamie Redford, who spent a year filming the documentary, Paper Tigers, which tells the Lincoln story. Jim is currently working as a trauma-informed coach / consultant as well as a trainer with the Children’s Resilience Initiative, based in Walla Walla. Result: searching for a movie
by North Adams Library 11 Sep '19

11 Sep '19

Hello. First, thank you to everyone who suggested a title for the movie our patron was trying to find. Most suggested Groundhog Day. Our patron returned it yesterday and said that was not the movie he was remembering. To me, it sounded like it was going to be the correct one, but patron says it is not. Patron will need to come up with some more clues as we are out of ideas. Phyllis ------ Phyllis Rickard Director North Adams Community Memorial Library (zv245) 110 E.
