The Schultz-Holmes Memorial Library in Blissfield Closed until April 13.
by director＠blissfieldlibrary.org 13 Mar '20

13 Mar '20

While closing the library is a difficult decision, arrived at only after investigating every other option, we find those other options to be partial measures that continue to leave staff and patrons unduly exposed and threatened. Therefore, the Schultz-Holmes Memorial Library is closed until Monday, April 13 at 10:30 am. We will re-evaluate as we move though the closure, but that is the current date to re-open. The building, including restrooms, will be closed to the public. Staff will be on-site at least part of each day the library is normally open. We will check the library voicemail, email, and social media sites for messages. Patrons who have been notified they have materials on hold to pick up, should call the library to arrange to pick up the items. While the book drop remains open for patrons to return borrowed items, all fines on items due between March 1 and April 30 are waived as long as the material is returned by June 1. Inter-library loan is suspended until further notice. Auditorium rental is suspended until further notice. We will contact those with rentals already scheduled after April 13, if the plan changes and the library does not re-open by that date. Programs are cancelled until the library re-opens. The library's online services and collections are unaffected and remain operational to serve our patrons. This status is the current one and may change. You may call the library at 517-486-2858 and leave a message or email the library at info(a)blissfieldlibrary.org. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. Southgate Veterans Memorial Library closure
by Don Priest 13 Mar '20

13 Mar '20

The Southgate Veterans Memorial Library will be closing, beginning Saturday, March 14th, and (tentatively) reopening on Monday, April 6th. Staff will continue working during this period, plugging away at projects. We have suspended delivery during this time, and cancelled all events. A question for everyone: if you use a collection agency, have you contacted them to change anything? I'm planning to get in touch with ours, we use Unique Management Services, and ask them to halt collection on any accounts while this all runs its course. Donald Priest Director Southgate Veterans Memorial Library 14680 Dix-Toledo Rd. Southgate MI 48195 734-258-3002

Negaunee Public Library operating with closed stacks
by Jessica Holman 13 Mar '20

13 Mar '20

Good afternoon, The Negaunee Public Library is remaining open at this time. As per discussion with my city manager, on Monday, March 16, we will be operating in the old-time manner of "closed stacks," retrieving books and items for patrons. Programs remain to be determined, but the majority of the parents of the Dungeons & Dragons group affirmed that they are fine with the group continuing to meet in the library for the time being. We are offering curbside services. Updates will be provided as the situation changes. -- Jessica Holman Library Director Negaunee Public Library 319 West Case Street Negaunee, MI 49866 (906) 475-7700 ext. 18

Adaptive Umbrella workshop rescheduled
by Jen Taggart 13 Mar '20

13 Mar '20

[cid:image001.png@01D5F94D.67FD7700] March 13, 2020 Dear Adaptive Umbrella attendees: We have been closely monitoring the developing situation with regards to the Coronavirus COVID-19 and are mindful of the health concerns of our speakers and attendees. We have decided to postpone the Adaptive Umbrella Workshop to September 23, 2020. This decision is made with an abundance of caution and knowing the inconvenience and disappointment this causes. We feel that this is the best decision for the greater public health. We are following the guidelines from government health agencies which advise against large gatherings of people and feel a responsibility to do our part to prevent the spread of this virus. Our program, featured speakers, and panelists will resume as planned, and your current registration will remain active for September 23, 2020. If you are unable to attend on the rescheduled date, please contact taggartj(a)btpl.org<mailto:taggartj@btpl.org>. While we are disappointed we won't see you in April, we are looking forward to an amazing day of learning and collaboration this fall! In the meantime, as a reminder, there are many online accessibility resources to check out, such as the many resources/tools available through the Michigan Alliance for Cultural Accessibility (MACA) https://www.miculturalaccess.org<https://www.miculturalaccess.org/> and the new accessibility listserv MiLibAccess. You can subscribe to MiLibAccess here: http://lists.mcls.org/mailman/listinfo/milibaccess. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding.
