Hi, We have some stuff we no longer use. From the top left, clockwise: 1. A couple of mitts with 5 Little ducks, frogs, and monkeys that you can put on and take off the fingers of the glove while you do the rhyme 2. Go Away Big Green Monster book and puppet kit according to the paper in it - it's slightly stuffed flannel pieces and velcro to put the features on and off (Lakeshore Learning) 3. Mrs Honey's Hat by Pam Adams book and doll with hat and things to put on and take off along with the story. 4. Puppet animals that go along with the story The Wide-Mouthed Frog by Keith Faulkner (book not included) 5. Good afternoon, Michigan libraries! If you aren't already registered as a Great Michigan Read<https://www.michiganhumanities.org/great-michigan-read/> (GMR) partner, there's still time. We still have copies of Curtis Chin's Everything I Learned, I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant available, as well as our supplementary materials. Additionally, as a registered partner, you're eligible for up to $750 in Great Michigan Read Action Grant funding. Limited grants are still available. Please save the date and spread the word about these GMR Action Grant-funded author events taking place in the weeks ahead: * Ann Arbor District Library this Friday, June 5, at 1:30 p.m. Curtis Chin will be part of an event co-hosted by the LGBTQ+ History Association and Ann Arbor District Library. "Historical Perspectives on Queer Detroit"<https://aadl.org/node/668602> will feature Curtis reading from his memoir, Mix Mann presenting research on the life of the Detroit-based Black lesbian activist Ruth Ellis, and Tim Retzloff reading from Come Out! Hi all, I'm wondering how many of your friends group have a facebook or other social media presence. Our Friends have decided that social media will be the answer to their perceived downturn in bookstore purchasing. I have strong concerns about this including, but not limited to... 1. Lack of public understanding that the 'friends' page is NOT the 'library page.' 2. A 'volunteer' who will be representing the library via social media account that is potentially confused with the library account. 3. An account which encourages donations to be dropped off ALL. THE. TIME. 4. I'm sure there is something else to worry about here... Just looking to see what other library friend groups are doing in this regard. *The Suttons Bay Bingham District Library is now seeking a part-time Circulation Clerk* The main job responsibilities are in providing excellent circulation services to all library patrons. We are looking for an applicant with excellent customer service skills, excellent attention to detail, great communication skills and the ability to maintain workplace confidentiality. As well as working well with the public, the applicant must maintain positive working relationships with library staff and volunteers. The position is 12 hours per week. Typical shifts are 10am-2pm weekdays and two Saturdays per month, year round. The starting rate of pay is $17.00 per hour, with paid time off earned for hours worked, and an optional 457 retirement savings plan available. The Cass District Library (CDL) is seeking a Community Services Library/Associate. This position creates, implements, and presents branch and community programs for all ages. The Community Services Librarian/Associate also assists at the check-out desk, maintains the youth collection, provides technology assistance, readers’ advisory services, interprets the Library’s policies and procedures, and serves as the designated staff member in-charge at times.
