Michigan Reconnect Scholarship - information for your library community!
Hello, MiLEAP is asking for Michigan libraries to ensure that Michiganders are aware of the Michigan Reconnect Scholarship opportunity so people in your communities can access affordable education, improve their career prospects, and contribute to the economic growth in both the state and your communities. The Michigan Reconnect Scholarship is an opportunity that provides a tuition-free pathway to community college for Michiganders who are 25 years or older and do not have an associate or bachelor’s degree. The scholarship allows individuals to earn an associate degree or skills certificate. Michigan Reconnect Expands Beginning this fall, more Michiganders will have access to tuition-free education through Michigan Reconnect. As part of the FY27 budget, eligibility is expanding to include adults ages 21 through 24<https://bridgemi.com/talent-education/michigan-fills-free-college-gap-lowers-eligibility-to-21-for-now/>, opening the door for thousands more residents to earn an associate degree or skills certificate at no cost. The expansion builds on the success of Michigan Reconnect<https://www.michigan.gov/reconnect> and continues the state's work toward achieving its Sixty by 30<https://www.michigan.gov/mileap/higher-education/sixty-by-30> <https://www.michigan.gov/mileap/higher-education/sixty-by-30> goal by making postsecondary education more accessible and affordable.
