Hello Library Land, Last year, we hired Seriously Funny Biz to offer photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus during our Downtown Adrian holiday celebration. Tami was great to work with and quick with set up and tear down. They even brought coloring pages. The kids (and adults) had a great time. This year we have hired them again for their new Magical Merry Christmas Experience which includes stories, songs, and magic. Mrs. Claus can also offer facepainting! Seriously Funny Biz has been hired by other libraries and businesses in our area for their Murder Mystery adventures, Lily the Easter Bunny, and Missy the Clown characters and shows. alternative audio formats advice requested

Hello everyone, I have some Friends of the Library money to spend and am looking at using it to expand our children's audio collection into more formats than just CDs. So far I've looked into Vox Books, Wonderbooks, Playaways, Tonies, and Yotos. Before spending thousands of dollars, I'd love to get some real-world info. If you have any of these in your collection, what do I need to know? Durability? Cost? Storage? Any additional accessories? Popularity? Functionality? Charging procedures? Value? Hassles? Buy from the company or through a different vendor? Is there another similar product I have overlooked? etc. I would appreciate any testimonials, horror stories, or assorted advice. Thank you! Teen Video Game Programming?

Hello, everyone! We are working on our strategic plan right now at BTPL, and one of my current tasks is finding out some information about hosting a video game hang-out program for our teens, as we have had some interest from them for this (Yes, our teens are actually asking us for things and I am terribly excited about it)!! I was hoping to get some insight and advice to get started from all of your wonderful minds! We currently do not own any video game console(s), and are unsure exactly which one would be best for us to get. We were thinking it would be a casual gaming event, mostly MarioKart and Smash; games that fairly large groups can play together and that aren't too outrageously violent (yes, I understand that Smash is about beating each other up, but I feel like that doesn't count). Obviously, it would have to be a Nintendo system to play those specific games, but I am rather unsure which one would be best, as I am not a Gamer™ myself. If you have any experience with running a program like this, I would absolutely LOVE to hear about it!
