The Harper Woods Public Library is looking for two enthusiastic, patron-focused people to work as a Youth/Teen Librarian (part time). Evening and weekend hours will be required. The pay rate is $18 per hour for applicants with a Master’s Degree in Library Science or $15 per hour for currently enrolled MLS students. 2023 UPRLC Annual Conference Registration Now Open: September 13 - 14 in Sault Ste. Marie

Good Morning! I am excited to share that registration is now open for our 2023 UPRLC Annual Conference. The conference will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 and Thursday, September 14, 2023 in Sault Ste. Marie. A half-day of session will be hosted at the Bayliss Public Library on September 13, followed by a full day of conference keynotes and sessions on September 14 at the Cisler Center on Lake State University's campus. Wednesday events will include lunch provided by the Friends of the Bayliss Public Library, a trustee roundtable with the Library of Michigan and a team building session with staff from the Midwest Collaborative for Library Services. Thursday will begin with our opening keynote speaker, Kristin Fontichiaro. The afternoon will include a keynote panel discussion and 3 breakout sessions between 15 options. Hello All: we recently hosted Anshu Varma <Anshuvarma2312(a)gmail.com> for a wonderful Teen/Tween program on mehndi (henna) and indian culture-- part of our international outreach for All Together Now. Anshu brought all the materials and even added elements of cultural teaching and demonstrations of the sari. The teens were thrilled and created some amazing Henna art. Anshu has been listed for many years with the MMLC preferred Performers list and the Michigan Humanities website-- but her email had changed, so i had a hard time reaching her! Michigan Activity Pass: New Software Now Live!

All, TLN is pleased to announce that the new, powered by LocalHop MAP software is now live! If you've not already done so please update all of your MAP links to this brand new URL [ https://miactivitypass.org/ | https://miactivitypass.org ] A few housekeeping details: ***TLN has made all 475 venues inactive at the previous MAP website. Making a venue inactive at the previous MAP website removes the destination from public view, thus negating the pass reservation process there. The previous MAP website now includes a note telling patrons to proceed to the [ https://miactivitypass.org/ | https://miactivitypass.org ] site to begin their MAP adventure.
