Zoom presenter recommendation

Last week, CDL hosted Claire Evans and her Zoom presentation, "The Great British Baking Tour." As a former UK resident and travel consultant she gave us a delightful culinary tour of the UK inspired by “The Great British Baking Show” television series, and even included recipes. I learned of her through a national Zoom presenter webinar series, so I'm sure she would be new to most Michigan libraries. She has quite the list of other UK-inspired presentations. MAP "Contact Us" Email Change AND New MAP Software Status Update

Good Afternoon, A couple of MAP related items for today: 1. TLN has changed the email "contact us for help" address for the MAP program. As the Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MCLS) prepares to embark on a strategic planning process in 2023, we want to engage with the library community in Indiana and Michigan through a series of Community Conversations. This engagement process is an opportunity to hear from our community – staff from libraries and affiliated associations and organizations throughout Indiana and Michigan - about their aspirations and concerns. The knowledge gathered will help inform MCLS's future priorities as we plan how to serve you more fully over the next several years. You don’t need to be an expert; come share your perspective! We will facilitate 12 virtual Community Conversations via Zoom between Feb. 6 and 18 at a variety of times. Some conversations have filled, but spaces are still available in several sessions. The Conversations are open to any library staff in any type of library in Indiana and Michigan. Detroit Country Day School is currently seeking a* Middle School Librarian* to begin work in the *2023-24 school year*. The Middle School Library is a bright, updated facility, and the Middle School faculty and students (4th-8th grades) are eager to work with the Librarian. Hello all, Northville District Library (NDL) is hosting Ms. Deborah Chud online via Zoom for the presentation, "Secrets of Oudolf Garden Detroits Master Designer," this coming Wednesday, February 8 at 6:45 PM. Not familiar with Piet Oudolf or Oudolf Garden Detroit? That's okay! Deborah will present an introduction to the design principles of the leading naturalistic designer in the world and the designer of Oudolf Garden Detroit. Piet Oudolf is an internationally renowned Dutch garden designer, author, and horticulturalist who is the leading figure of the "New Perennial" movement.. An all-volunteer grounds crew runs this 3-acre public garden located on Belle Isle. According to Oudolf Garden Detroit's website, the garden "is divided into three district areas; the Main Garden, the Rain Garden, and the Meadows," Oudolf chose perennials, shrubs, trees, and grasses because of their robust characteristics, their resilience, and changing colors and textures throughout the seasons in Michigan. About our Speaker: Deborah Chud is a retired Massachusetts physician turned garden maker, consultant, and educator, who specializes in coaching home gardeners in person and virtually. Her years of research on the world's most famous New Perennial gardens (including New York's High Line, Chicago's Lurie Garden, the Oudolf Meadow at Delaware Botanic Garden, and Oudolf Garden Detroit)have generated a unique database of New Perennial plant combinations and fostered the creation of her own highly unusual New Perennial garden.
