Good Morning, In preparation of our upcoming staff inservice day I am putting together questions for *Library Feud. *I am in need of survey answers. Please consider taking this survey and sharing it with your coworkers. I am hoping to get 100 answers. 1. Name a reason patrons return their books late. 2. Name a reason a book might end up on the mending cart. 3. Name something you would bring to an outdoor library program. 4. What is a word someone might use when describing a book they don't like? 5. Name something you might find at the reference desk. 6. Besides library materials, name something you might find in the drop box. 7. Name something you might find at a book club meeting. 8. Name something besides a bookmark patrons use to mark their page in a book. 9. What is a librarian's most important accessory? 10 Name something a child may do when they are learning to read. Cemetery Preservation Program.

Hello! This past week, RTDL welcomed Thomas Henthorn and students from the University of Michigan-Flint Department of History for a historic preservation program at the Redford Cemetery. During this four hour program, participants were instructed in proper care, cleaning, and repair of grave monuments. We discussed geology, history, art, and engineering through the course of the day. This program was made possible by the Wyatt Endowment at the University of Michigan-Flint. Our library was able to work closely with our local historical commission and local chapter of The Daughters of the American Revolution to host this program. I cannot say enough about this event; the camaraderie, the education, the service to our community. Participants left the event with resources and skills to clean historic monuments on their own. The Huntington Woods library is hiring! We're a small, cozy library in a walkable neighborhood near the Detroit Zoo and are part of the TLN shared catalog. We're in need of both substitute adult librarians and substitute library clerks. The adult librarians are needed primarily in the evenings and on weekends (we're open Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 1-5) and the library clerks are needed throughout the week and on weekends. She came to our library to provide a presentation on Planning Your Disney Vacation, and she did a fabulous job helping our overwhelmed and stressed patrons figure out the ins and outs of planning their Disney vacations. She came so prepared (and even decorated). MacDonald is a member of the Suburban Library Cooperative. It is a Class IV library serving over 20,000 residences in the City of New Baltimore and Casco township. It has 4 full-time and 11 part-time employees with an annual operating budget of $600,000. The library is evolving from being a city department into an independent, millage supported service. Passwords for Library Cards, Celebrating 2021 Michigan Author Award Recipient Larry Massie, and Upcoming Virtual/In-Person Programs [Library of Michigan logo] Special Collections Update - September 23, 2022 Passwords for Library Cards, Celebrating 2021 Michigan Author Award Recipient Larry Massie, and Upcoming Virtual/In-Person Programs [Database Log In Page]Passwords for Library Cards This summer the Library of Michigan's catalog and patron management software were updated to a new system called FOLIO. FOLIO functions quite differently from the former system and requires a number of changes in the way patrons and staff do things, including how we log in to Library of Michigan databases remotely and log in to patron computers at the Library. In the past, patrons logged in to databases with their Library of Michigan card number and a 4-digit PIN. In order to use the databases now, Library of Michigan card holders will need to change their PINs to regular passwords. Patrons who have already established a regular password recently can continue to use their new passwords. To change passwords, patrons should: 1.
