We are looking for an affordable ticketing and reporting software to use on our public computers. This software would have tickets we would give to patrons so they can sign on to the public computer, and would allow us to view usage reports. Are you using anything similar to this? Michigan eLibrary: eBook Lexile® Levels

Good morning, Field codes are a useful tool to use when searching many of the MeL databases for specific information. Lexile® levels are great to use for identifying the reading level of a book, especially for younger people. The field code for Lexile® in the EBSCO products from MeL is LX. We’ve created a handy, very general, interactive guide that you can use to help elementary-age students make selections for books that are in their range. Make a difference on the West Michigan Lakeshore as the new Library Director for the Muskegon Area District Library<http://www.madl.org/>, headquartered in Muskegon County. The Library's Board of Trustees seeks an innovative and experienced Director to implement an exciting vision for the library and its many constituencies. MADL serves 105,852 residents in 19 municipalities and townships with its mission to connect a diverse community to resources and services that educate, inform, enrich, and entertain. Governed by an eight-member Board of Trustees appointed by the local townships, the 11 library locations provide excellent services and programs with 57 staff (42 FTEs) and a $4.5 million annual budget. MADL shares a catalog, resources, and delivery system with other members of the Lakeland Library Cooperative. Key initiatives include developing and fostering a great work environment, managing taxpayer funds to meet the needs of the community, preparing for an upcoming millage renewal, negotiating a renewal for a current union contract, and keeping the library relevant as the public's needs change. The Muskegon area is located on the shore of Lake Michigan and is a popular destination with beautiful beaches, parks, and lakes. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the hiking and bike trails and other types of outdoor recreation for all seasons. Displaying local artwork

Hello! The Brandon Township Public Library is hoping to begin displaying local artists' work on a quarterly basis and we are hoping that other libraries who currently have a rotating artwork display could answer some questions for us: Does anyone have a contract that they have artists sign that they could share with us? Do you have size restrictions for paintings? What kind of space/hardware do you use for displaying the work? Therapy dog policy

Hello, Do any of you all have a policy dealing with using therapy dogs in the library (for programs, etc?). We have a therapy dog who has helped lead programs and who visits during others, and is often at the library (in the back, but available to visit with patrons if they request it) and my Board wanted to set an official policy in support of the use of therapy dogs in the facility.
