However, this recission does NOT affect the MiOSHA Emergency Rules in effect 2021-201 LE_MIOSHA COVID Emergency Rules_5.21.21 to LSB_ERE (BGP)FINAL (michigan.gov)<https://www.michigan.gov/documents/leo/MIOSHA_COVID_Emergency_Rules_726100_…>. This means that as of June 22, Employers (including libraries) will still have to adhere to the MiOSHA rules unless those rules are also rescinded or modified. In addition, MDHHS has published a guidance on MASK RECOMMENDATIONS Corresponding to the current CDC guidance. LANSING, Mich. – Governor Gretchen Whitmer today accelerated the end of all COVID-19 epidemic orders on gatherings and masking as COVID-19 cases continue to plummet following increased vaccinations. Beginning June 22, capacity in both indoor and outdoor settings will increase to 100% and the state will no longer require residents to wear a face mask. “Today is a day that we have all been looking forward to, as we can safely get back to normal day-to-day activities and put this pandemic behind us,” said Governor Whitmer. “We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the medical experts and health professionals who stood on the front lines to keep us all safe. And we are incredibly thankful to all of the essential workers who kept our state moving. Thanks to the millions of Michiganders who rolled up their sleeves to get the safe, effective COVID-19 vaccine, we have been able to make these changes ahead of schedule. Our top priority going forward is utilizing the federal relief funding in a smart, sustainable way as we put Michigan back to work and jumpstart our economy. We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ensure that Michigan’s families, small businesses, and communities emerge from this pandemic stronger than ever before.” Nearly five million Michiganders ages 16 and older have received their first vaccine dose, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data. According to data from the Michigan Care Improvement Registry, half of Michigan residents have completed their vaccination and over 60% have gotten their first shots. “This is great news and a day all of us have been looking forward to for more than a year,” said Elizabeth Hertel, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services director. “We have said all along that the vaccine would help us return to a sense of normalcy and today we announce that day is here.” Case rates, percent positivity and hospitalizations have all plummeted over the past several weeks. Currently, Michigan is experiencing 24.3 cases per million and has recorded a 1.9% positivity rate over the last seven days. “This is a great day, however, there is more work to be done,” said Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, chief medical executive and chief deputy for health at MDHHS. “We can’t let our guard down as there continue to be several variants of the COVID-19 virus circulating in our state, including the concerning Delta variant. The COVID-19 vaccine is the most important tool we have to reduce the spread of the virus and I urge everyone ages 12 and up who has not yet received their vaccine to get it as soon as possible. Digital Services Librarian I (Part-time) Starting at $18.50-$28.50/hour Wage based on qualifications The Troy Public Library is the hub of the vibrant, dynamic, and diverse City of Troy. The Library sees over 700,000 in person and online visitors per year and serves an educated and involved community. Under the direction of the Head of Digital Services, the Librarian I (Digital Services Librarian) performs a variety of professional and public service tasks in order to support the library's digital services and technology initiatives. Work involves researching, implementing and promoting new technology and software to fulfill patron needs and help staff work more effectively. DUTIES Under the supervision of the Head of Digital Services, works as a public service librarian specializing in technology resources, including electronic references, downloadable eBooks and audiobooks, and databases. Develops and leads high quality technology classes and programs. Assist technology room patrons, troubleshoot computer hardware and software issues. Monitor patrons' use of the library public computers and enforce computer use policy. Apply a full working knowledge of all forms of technology, especially laptops, smartphones, tablets, and e-readers. Utilizes library and technology systems to provide efficient service and perform reference and user guidance. Assist with the creation of a TPL Maker Space and programming related to a Maker Space. Perform related duties and general library reference services work as required. REQUIREMENTS Master of Library Science degree from a library school accredited by the American Library Association. An interest in new and emerging technology trends in libraries including Maker Spaces. Proficiency with electronic databases, Microsoft Office applications, social network sites and the Internet as well as electronic devices such as e-readers and tablets. Proficiency using multiple devices and platforms, including iOS, Android, MacOS, and Windows. Ability to interact courteously and effectively with the public, library staff, library volunteers, and other City departments. Ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic, fast-paced environment, using excellent organizational and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in an appropriate and secure manner. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must pass a background check and pre-employment physical and drug screen (including marijuana). Perform related duties as required. REQUIREMENTS High school degree or GED equivalent and a minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college credits. Applicants with an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Selected candidate(s) must submit proof of educational attainment and official transcripts at time of offer. Ability to interact courteously and effectively with the public, library staff, library volunteers, and other City departments.
