Ability to work well with patrons and other staff is required. Physical requirements include, but are not limited to, reaching, stooping, bending, and carrying heavy objects. Executive Director - Florence-Lauderdale Public Library (AL) The Florence-Lauderdale Public Library Board of Directors seeks creative and engaged candidates for the position of Executive Director of the Library. The ideal candidate will provide leadership that puts patrons first by delivering innovative services for the community and by equipping the staff with the tools and support to provide those services. The Library is well-supported by a population of roughly 90,000 county residents in a 40,000 sq. ft. building with a dedicated staff (13 full-time and 10 part-time) and a budget of approximately $1.3 million. Funding is provided primarily by the city and county along with the generous support of the Library Foundation and the Friends of the Library group. The Florence-Lauderdale Public Library Executive Director has traditionally played a high-profile role in the community, and the position offers opportunities to represent the Library in many social contexts and before a variety of stakeholders. Florence and Lauderdale County is located in the northwest corner of Alabama on the banks of the Tennessee River in the heart of the Muscle Shoals region. Renowned for its place in American music and culture, a significant presence in the fashion industry, and a landscape rich in history and particularly Native history, this region offers many opportunities for personal and professional growth. The library is the center of a vibrant and picturesque downtown, blocks from the University of North Alabama, which anchors a cultural area that includes a city park, art centers, historic architecture, and museums. Florence has a long history and deep roots which are celebrated through such events as the Arts Alive Festival and the W.C. Handy Music Festival. The city of Florence has been recognized regionally and nationally as one of the best small towns in America for its beauty, temperate climate, short commute times, low cost of living, and economic stability. The Shoals area has long been famed for a musical heritage blending African American blues, jazz, country, gospel, and rock that is vibrant and thriving today. Responsibilities of the Executive Director include: developing a strategic plan that includes both short-term and long-term goals for Library operations; preparing and presenting the Library's budget proposal and monitoring and approving expenditures; guiding management staff in planning for services that meet the present and future needs of the community; hiring and supervising Library staff; identifying new revenue streams for the Library; and interacting regularly with local government representatives and community leaders. Need data from Class V and Class VI libraries regarding their fund balance

I am hoping you all can assist. This request is specifically for Class V and Class VI libraries. Dearborn is hoping to renew our millage on the August primary. A Council member has asked for comparative data on fund balance amounts for similar libraires. Some of you may call it a rainy day fund. It is the amount collected each year that you don't spend and can carry over to the next year. If you could respond to me by Wednesday, May 19 that would be great. Our time is limited and we just received this request from Council. Well join us for, "Healthy Summer, Healthy Goals!" presented by MSU Extension, Health and Nutrition Institute. The workshop is geared toward families with children looking to set healthy goals. In a Memorial Day remembrance and virtual program, we are pleased to present and welcome both Lt. Col. Alexander Jefferson and Lt. Col. Harry Stewart of the 332nd Fighter Group of Tuskegee Airmen - Redtails. The two American heroes will speak about their brave experiences and service during WWII. By the time the 332nd flew its last combat mission on April 26, 1945, two weeks before the German surrender, the Tuskegee Airmen – Redtails had flown more than 15,000 individual raids over two years in combat. They had destroyed or damaged 36 German planes in the air and 237 on the ground, as well as nearly 1,000 rail cars and transport vehicles and a German destroyer. After their brave service, the Tuskegee Airmen returned home to a country where they continued to face systematic racism and prejudice. Join us to hear Col. Alexander Jefferson and Lt. Col.
