Hello, Gwen I am interested in this training, but don't have an individual membership. Do you offer arrangements for people on furlough from a library system? I have no idea when, or if, I will be called back, and am working on seeking out training to make myself more useful. Even if DPL is a corporate member, I didn't see a corporate member option, so assume that that is not an option. Everyone, I learned this morning that the link in the posting I shared yesterday was incorrect. Here is the correct information if you wish to obtain a display. With apologies, Elaine Didier Free Pop-Up Display from the National Archives: The National Archives, in partnership with the Women's Suffrage Centennial Commission (WSCC), is providing 2,500 free Rightfully Hers pop-up displays to cultural institutions nationwide in honor of the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment and women's constitutional right to vote. The displays are FREE, easy to setup, and are yours to keep. Assembled size is 68"high by 32" wide and their footprint is approximately 45" square. Participating venues will receive a display delivered to their door via UPS in late July, early August, along with digital educational and press materials via email. All, We suspected/anticipated there would be one surviving platform (OverDrive vs RBdigital), following the recent completion of the sales transaction of OverDrive to [ https://www.kkr.com/businesses/kkr-portfolio | https://www.kkr.com/businesses/kkr-portfolio ] KKR had previously acquired RBdigital parent company RBMedia in 2018. It looks as if the "one surviving platform" model is going to be the case in the future, possibly sooner rather than later. Exactly what this means for our patrons or for our current RBdigital products and pricing statewide, I have no idea. I do know it should be an interesting next several months! Dear Elaine, I received information about ordering free displays in honor of the centennial of Women's Suffrage for the University of Michigan Library. I tried to click the link that was included to request the displays and it required a log-in for the National Archives site. Is there a way I can request the displays another way? Facilitating Effective and Interactive Zoom Meetings - new MCLS course!

MCLS is offering a brand new course for facilitating effective virtual meetings! Facilitating an effective virtual meeting requires just as much planning and preparation as an in-person meeting. In this workshop, you will gain a foundational knowledge of how to leverage the capabilities of Zoom in order to facilitate effective and interactive Zoom meetings and events. We will examine various Zoom settings and built-in tools and how to decide which is appropriate for the meeting type and will include information on how to create a secure meeting. We will also share how to thoughtfully design the meeting to provide a productive and engaging experience for participants. This course will delve into steps for planning and facilitating an online meeting and some advanced features of Zoom. We will not cover the basics of setting up a Zoom account or attending a meeting. To participate in this workshop fully, participants should have a basic understanding of using Zoom for meetings and be familiar with how to access account settings. This will be a highly interactive workshop, and you will gain hands-on practice in using specific Zoom features to facilitate a virtual meeting. Participants should have a microphone and plan to turn their cameras on for full participation.
