The nine-member Board of Trustees seeks a Director who will embrace a focus on thoughtful, sustainable library services and programs for all Kirkwood residents. Diversity and inclusivity are key as the Library adopts its new 2020 Strategic Plan moving the Library into the future while respecting its tradition. Serving the 27,000 residents of Kirkwood from a single location, the 45 member staff offer cutting edge technologies and excellent digital and print collections supported by an annual $2 million operating budget. The Library is also a member of the nine-library Municipal Library Consortium allowing it to expand its holdings to its customers. Additional support comes from a large volunteer corps, the bookstore (Books & Beyond), and passport services. Our community. Located in Southwest St. Louis County, Kirkwood, Missouri (nine square miles) is home to a vibrant small town atmosphere with strong community involvement. Minimum qualifications include a Master's in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program and four years of experience in an administrative capacity. Each regional alliance meets at least twice a year to bring together representatives from HSM member historical organizations in several counties. The Alliance meetings take place in the morning and consist of a networking session and a featured speaker. Attendance at a Michigan History Alliance meeting is FREE of charge for current member organizations of HSM. Since the Alliance is a benefit for HSM member organizations, membership is required for participation. Attendees must represent a member historical organization in order to attend the Alliance meeting in the morning. The afternoon workshops are open to ALL! There is a fee to attend the History Skills Workshops. To further the educational experience of the Alliance meetings, a separate three-hour History Skills Workshop will be offered in the afternoon. Taught by authorities in the field, the History Skills Workshops provide in-depth training on such topics as exhibit design, collections management, fundraising, and websites. New MAP Partner Destination: A Biggie!

Good Morning, In my most recent email to announce the addition of two new MAP partner destinations I alluded to the possibility of a third new venue, which I described as a "biggie." We had been talking to this "biggie" about a MAP partnership since February. Yesterday I did a road trip to White Pine Library Cooperative in Saginaw (thank you to new WPLC cooperative director Kate and her staff as well as to WPLC member library staff for their hospitality) to present and answer questions about the Michigan Activity Pass as well as another TLN statewide service, the RBdigital Magazines program. When I returned to the office this morning I was very gratified to open my email and see a confirmation from the "biggie" we had been pursuing for MAP for the past six months. Closing for an outside activity

Hello everyone, I was wondering if any of you have closed part of your library to attend an outside community activity. Our library is two floors (Adult Department main floor, Children's Department second floor), and there are some community activities I'd really like us to be a part of, but some of them might require all the Children's Department staff we have.
