Like many libraries, we were surprised to learn that Lynda.com's change to LinkedIn Learning would bring changes to authentication and that patrons will soon be compelled to create LinkedIn profiles in order to use the product. We are still considering our response but, in the meantime, I am wondering - do any other libraries subscribe to electronic resources similar to Lynda.com that they could recommend? We subscribe to Gale Courses and Learning Express Library, but I'm curious to know if anyone has any other recommendations for instructional video products. Thanks! *Groan* yes, I did indeed dare to say those 2 words in August: "Summer Reading!" 2020's Imagine Your Story will be here before you know it (manuals out by October), so come November you can get a jump start on all your planning and ideas for next year. Feedback Requested: Turning off wireless nightly

Hello all, First, I apologize for the duplicate posting, but I'm hoping to get as much feedback as possible. *The question:* We're seeing a sudden, dramatic increase of late-night, early-morning drug abuse around our building, encouraged, it seems, by availability of our wireless internet access. We have a lot of third-shift factory workers in our area, so we've always kept it on and available, but this is public safety issue. We've added locks on our exterior electrical sockets, and we're considering the option of scheduled our wireless to go down nightly, at least midnight-6am. Please let me know your thoughts. Do you turn your wireless off? What was the response from the community? If not, have you thought about it? What informed your decision. Thank you to everyone who shared their program with me, this goes leaps and bounds towards getting our 1k before K program up and running. While many libraries vary from program to program common threads though out included: -Rewarding families with a small prize (dollar store, books, bubbles, ect.) through out the program (every 100 books or at milestones 100, 250,500) - a certificate of completion at the end with a larger prize: dedicate a book, group party or some form of acknowledgement of their accomplishment -Having paper logs (typically an in-house creation) available, tracking 50-100 books at a time - Most libraries seem to track the count of books and not the title - Having a brochure or orientation packet for parents. [image: image.png]During our recent move, Kirtland Community College Library found we had more than we needed of the following: Magazine boxes - approximately 55 forest green (good condition - may be slightly scraped where labels have been removed) Magazine boxes - approximately 77 burgundy (good condition - may be slightly scraped where labels have been removed) Book ends - 283 small sand (tan) Book ends - 39 tall light blue Book ends - 11 small misc. colors (dark blue, bright blue, red, green) Book ends - 25 tall dark blue Book ends - 11 tall bright blue All book ends are in good shape. We also have 9 tall yellow book ends that have a few chips in them.
