Hello. Please consider sharing the following public service message about the Secretary of State's upgrade to its decades-old computer system. We'll be temporarily shutting down our branches, kiosks and online services during this transition to the new system, so it's critical we get the word out. Below is text you can easily push out via your own communication channels. As always, thank you so much for your help in sharing this public service message. For Facebook, Newsletters, Email or Websites: Secretary of State upgrading decades-old computer system for vehicle records during Presidents Day weekend closure The Michigan Department of State is replacing its decades-old vehicle records system with CARS, a modern computer system to better serve millions of customers. CARS arrives Feb. 19. CARS will enhance services for Michigan residents by adding new online options, improving existing online and kiosk services, and giving staff in Secretary of State branch offices a more efficient tool to look up vehicle information and process transactions. During the upgrade, SOS offices, online services and auto business transactions will be taken offline and unavailable from 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, to 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19 (Presidents Day weekend). Good Morning, As you are aware, the National Electrical Code (NEC) is revised every three years (2011, 2014, 2017) by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). The NFPA 70 is the newest, current edition of the NEC: https://www.nfpa.org/NEC In conjunction with the every three year publication schedule of the NEC, Michigan issues the Michigan Electrical Code Rules, Part 8. These rules adopt by reference the NEC, and also include Michigan specific deletions, additions and amendments to the NEC. The 2017 Michigan Electrical Code Rules, Part 8 went effective January 4, 2019.
