Responsible for the operation and supervision of the Legal Writer program and the Electronic Law Library program. Independent judgment must be exercised in adapting and applying methods and procedures to specific situations. A knowledge of supervising techniques and personnel policies and procedures is required. Required Education and Experience Education: Possession of a master's degree in library science. EXPERIENCE: Librarian 9 No specific type or amount is required. Online Security

Greetings to anyone back at work today! We've had Symantec Endpoint, Small Business Edition, for anti-virus/etc. security on all of the library's computers. The company has recently been purchased by somebody or other, and will not be available through Tech Soup (our usual source). It sounds like it might not be readily available elsewhere, as well, during the change-over. Long story short: We need a plan B. What type of antivirus protection does your library use? Question about handling money

Hi All, Recently it has come up that the same staff receiving payments for fines and fees shouldn't be the same staff who can also forgive those same fines and fees. In our library it is all centralized at our Circ desk, and our Circ staff deals with all monetary transactions. It has never been an issue before, but now our Business Manager thinks it could become one for our auditors. I feel it would be a major inconvenience to our patrons if we have to find another staff person to witness the transaction everytime we forgive a fine.
