The Visiting Digital Assets Librarian contributes to the acquisition, production, and management of the library’s digital assets and e-resources, and provides metadata and technical expertise to advance the library’s strategic goals in support of the university’s teaching, learning, and research endeavors. Candidates will apply best practices to digitization and preservation processes. Candidates will share knowledge of current models, practices, and tools used by academic libraries for the access and discoverability of e-resources. Candidates will demonstrate ability to prioritize, plan, coordinate, and implement projects. Candidates must demonstrate experience with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Cash register software?

I'm looking for a bit more precision and accountability with our cash, so I'd like to hear what kind of cash register software other libraries use. Or, if you handle money some other way, I'd be interested in hearing about that too. I know about Square, which seems ok, but I don't think it's exactly what we're looking for. I'm also looking at Nextar (https://www.nextar.com/cash-register) which has the right price (it's free), and seems to cover everything, but maybe there's a hidden gem I'm unaware of (or everyone uses the same system and I'm woefully behind the times). OFBYFOR ALL

Hi Eveyone, Are there any libraries in Michigan that are doing the OFBYFOR ALL program? I was on the committe for this program at my library in Indiana. It's a really good initiative to bring diversity to the library. OFBYFOR ALL is a movement led by Nina Simon and Lauren Benetua of the Museum of Art & History (MAH) in Santa Cruz. The project's vision urges organizations to become more community involved and stresses the importance of co-creation. The basic idea is that cultural organizations are made up OF individuals who represent their community, have programming or services created BY the community, and do all these things FOR the community. But do you have the resources you need to help students and patrons? The Michigan eLibrary is here to help! It is an engaging online experience for those seeking contextual information and opinions on hundreds of today's hottest social issues.
