Tech Questions on lending a Fire 8

Hello- I have some questions about starting a program to lend a few Fire 8's or Ipads with my very trustworthy patrons. The general Idea I have is that I should get 2-3 Fire 8's with Prime access to whatever Amazon is offering up that day to my Sisters, especially those who are vision impaired or are Seniors. I get a lot of feedback in my outreach time asking for information and books that I do not have, and a lot of audio media from Catholic vendors is starting to become rarer in CD's, which is still very much the preferred from of media around here. I think this would be a good idea on the surface, but I'm also interested in seeing how other libraries handle this other than the small purpose-built e-readers. So some information here would be welcome. Thanks! Deep Freeze Issues

We are evaluating Deep Freeze cloud version but are experiencing a wide range of issues, such as: * Black Screen after patron login (no longer happening after a recent deep freeze update, but we are concerned that this could happen again and all PACs would be unusable…especially since this was a known issue for some time and still exists as a known issue) * Desktop icons not staying in place * Maintenance window not consistently running (includes the software updater and the update of core deep freeze components) * Support/Development taking a lifetime to get us answers. Given our recent experience, I’m amazed that anyone has successfully and ‘consistently’ used Deep Freeze in a production environment, even though I know it is a commonly used solution in libraries and schools. So I’m wondering if anyone has recently experienced any of these issues and what steps you took to resolve them? Any help or insight is appreciated. Herrick District Library Pete Sneathen I.T. We have decided to use Wandoo Reader this summer. We would like to make a handout for patrons that tells them how it works, how to sign up and how to use the Family Management Portal. I would love to see how other libraries have handled this. Has anyone already done something like this that they would be willing to share?
