Hi Everyone, Myself and Mary Ruthko from Bay County Library System are reviving the MI PR Group. The MI PR Group an informal PR group to work together and share our successes, learn from our non-successes and put our brains together to try and tackle issues and help all of our libraries. We invite anyone involved with marketing or public relations in libraries to this group. We will be meeting on Monday, December 3 from 2:00 - 4:00pm at the Southfield Public Library in the Meeting Room. Agenda: ● Introductions ● Presentation by Liz Breed, Michigan eLibrary Coordinator ● Roundtable discussion about marketing the MEL databases both to the public and our own staff ● Introduction to Dale Jaslove, Community Engagement Specialist, TLN ● Going around the table - what are you up to at your library We are striving toward having 3 - 4 meetings a year and hopefully even an unconference! Attrium libraries that have connected to NCIP

Hi there, We just connected with NCIP today and would like to hear from other Atriuum libraries about how their workflow has changed. We are especially interested in hearing how you handled Melcat check-ins. Do you put them aside and have ILL staff checking them in on INN-Reach, or did you train everyone to toggle between Inn-Reach and Atriuum? Braille Book Covering Solutions

Great Speaker on Holocaust

Hi All, We had a great speaker on the topic of the Holocaust recently whom I'd like to recommend to any library interested in that topic. Irene Miller, an author who lives in southeast Michigan, wrote a book called "Into No Man's Land" detailing her and her family's experience escaping Poland during the Holocaust. She was extremely engaging, educational and inspiring. We had a record amount of people attend and every single one of them was very moved by her story. Happy Tuesday! The Manistee County Library is seeking a creative, friendly, and highly energetic individual to be our new Youth Services Coordinator. Under the direction of the Executive Director of Library Services, plans, promotes, and implements programs for children and young adults. This position requires some evening and weekend hours. Full-time (37 ½ hours) with excellent benefits. Education: Bachelors Degree in Library Science, Early Childhood, Elementary Education or other child services required. Experience: Three years of experience in a public library. Experience working with children and young adults, preferably in a library or education setting. This survey is being conducted by the Statistics Committee of the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP). Our goal is to better understand how public library staff use and value CSLP membership and materials. For the purposes of this survey, we use the phrase “summer library program” in equivalence to summer reading program or summer learning program.
