This new program is in keeping with its mission to provide equal access to quality resources that serve the lifelong cultural, educational and informational needs and interests of all people. Chelsea District Library is actively engaged in adapting our services to expand access to our online resources. This service initiative was started due to the lack of broadband access in the rural areas of the Library district. Access to information empowers the community to learn new skills, enrich lives, explore new ideas, find employment, discover new business opportunities, and contribute to the community. These hotspots will allow users to access the internet in areas without broadband, do homework on their devices, and allow access to the Library’s online resources. The new Wi-Fi hotspots will be located on the library’s 2nd floor and are available for a non-renewable 3-week checkout period. They offer unlimited data over the Sprint 4G and 3G network, can support up to 10 devices at once, and will cover a 30 to 40ft range. They have very basic filtering, however they are not encrypted or secured. For more information about our Wi-Fi Hotspot program, please ask a librarian or our checkout staff. Help!

Our Star Wars characters just cancelled for our Summer Reading kickoff party on Wednesday (June 15th, 5:30-6:30 pm). Does anyone have a connection with someone in the 501st Legion? Our event has been advertised throughout the community and on tv and radio. Our kids have been looking forward to this for weeks. Any help will be appreciated. Hello Everyone! I'm looking for suggestions on how to deal with unruly teens who aren't interested in volunteering or even passive programming. I also used to allow them access to snacks when other teen programs were going on, but they have been very disruptive and rude to those teens who are actually there for the events, so I stopped doing this. funding a staff committee

Hi all-- We have installed a Spirit Committee which planned our staff picnic yesterday. The group is planning other activities for staff and is thinking of ways to raise money to pay for them. They don't need lots of money and have some good ideas for bringing it in; I'd like to bring a few of my (actually, your) ways to raise a few bucks to the group. Move it to Mordor Summer Fitness event

I wanted to share an event that we are having at the Benton Harbor Public Library in conjunction with the summer's fitness themed reading program. We are challening the community to "Move it to Mordor". As a team effort we are encouraging the community to log their miles walked, run, biked, and more and help us move from the Shire to Mount Doom to destory the ring. I'm attaching a flyer, and this event is open to everyone, even those outside of the Benton Harbor/Benton Charter Township community. You can even log miles online. Geek the Library left overs

disc storage units

We've been getting disc storage machines through Best Trade, and then, Zio Tek. When we tried to order more, we were told no one is making them anymore.
