Resources The Welcoming Spaces National Forum is a collaborative project between the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) and the Association of Children's Museums (ACM). This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services Award LG-16-19-0110-19. The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) and the Association of Children's Museums (ACM) are accepting applications to participate in the Welcoming Spaces National Forum, which will take place virtually in June 2022. The purpose of this project is to develop and share a set of best practices in serving immigrants and refugees in libraries and children's museums. Selected participants will represent 12 children's museums and 12 libraries with experience in serving immigrants and refugees, and up to 24 of their partnering organizations. Each participating library and children's museum will receive an honorarium of $2,000 to be shared with their collaborating partner. Participants in this project will be expected to record a brief video describing their project, program or service using a smartphone or camera. Participants will receive a tripod and lapel microphone to aid this process. The ALSC-ACM project team will prioritize selecting for a diverse group with respect to geography, size, service type, and project duration. Preference will be given to participants that plan to attend the virtual event as a collaborating team. The Ypsilanti District Library is partnering with the Ann Arbor Area SCORE office and the Salem South Lyon District to offer a free virtual program on NFTS, bitcoin and digital assets on Wed, Mar 2, at 6:30 pm. Here is the program title and description: Small Business Savvy: Bitcoins,NFTs and Digital Assets Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, and digital assets have captured the imagination of the business world, artists, even major banks and some major manufactures (think Tesla). This workshop will introduce you to the world of digital assets so you can start making informed decisions about participation in this alternative monetary system. Topics touched on will include: - Defining Cryptocurrency and Blockchain - Cryptocurrency wallets - Transactional costs (GAS) - Mining - Touching on NFT’s and other evolving forms Since this is a virtual event, we thought you may have some patrons who would be interested in learning more about these digital assets. Power/automatic doors

Hello fellow librarians, I am once again looking to pick the collective brain! I'm considering some power doors here, and would love your input on installing them, or if there's anything you wish you had known ahead of time, things to consider, regrets, etc. The project is really two parts, that I'm hoping to do all together: 1. Power doors, button activated, for the public bathrooms 2. Automatic doors, motion activated, for the main entrance (like a supermarket) I'm in the very early stages, where I know nothing, so all insight and opinions are appreciated! Laser Toner Cartridges

We have a set of HP 410-A, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow laser toner cartridges, new in the package. The printer that used them (HP Color Laserjet MFP M477fdw) gave up before we could use them up. Software suggestions

We are looking for an affordable ticketing and reporting software to use on our public computers. This software would have tickets we would give to patrons so they can sign on to the public computer, and would allow us to view usage reports. Are you using anything similar to this?
