Join the Oak Park Public Library team and help us serve an amazing community! Oak Park Public Library is looking for a part-time teen librarian that will coordinate with our youth librarian to provide and facilitate a variety of teen programs along with assisting at our information desk. We have been working diligently with community partnerships to provide programming for teens and this position will enhance and support these efforts. The schedule will be Mondays (afternoon-evening), Wednesdays (afternoon-evening) and Thursdays (daytime) along with some Sundays. The position will work approximately 16 -21 hours / week. The rate of pay is $18.00 per hour. Must have an MLS or be working toward one. Students currently enrolled in an MLS program are welcome to apply if they have some library experience or experience working with youth. Library General Fund Balance

Hello - Is there an average/standard practice for a library's general fund balance? Our board and I are interested in gauging whether we are spending as much as we should be. There's the potential question from the public of why go for a millage if you have "x" amount saved away. I asked my library cooperative, and received a handful of responses, varying widely from 15-60%. Given that broad range, was hoping to narrow it down to have a better idea. Thanks.
