Good morning, Library Land! I have to admit that I have never noticed, or don't recall having noticed, whether name tags are worn by staff when I go into libraries. This is a question that is going to be brought up at our meeting tonight, so I thought I would reach out to all of you and see how many libraries require their staff to wear name tags. YA(?) book stumper

Hello all, I was approached by a patron over the weekend with a book stumper, and I was hoping the librarian hivemind could point me towards some leads! This patron was 18 years old, and he read the book about 4 years ago, so we're looking at a publication date of 2020 or earlier. He checked it out from his high school library, so we're operating under the assumption it was YA, but he wasn't sure. It's some sort of mystery/thriller, but the only thing that stood out in his mind was *the book is written in two altering perspectives and one is in second person*. He was hoping this was a memorable enough detail that someone would remember it. I know it's not a lot to go on, but if you remember any books along this line, feel free to send me the names! Greetings, Join us a series of webinars covering the topic of library millages. Each webinar will be recorded and posted at the end of the month. Registration for the series provides you with access to all 4 sessions listed below. Resistant Municipalities, election and campaign laws, and combative communities can combine and overwhelm boards and directors alike. This series is for you! The 2024 Millage Series will occur every Monday in March. Participants need only to register 1 time to attend one or all sessions in the series. Each session will center on one aspect of the millage process: Session I: March 4, 2024, 1pm - 2:30pm EST Determining to attempt a Millage How Library Funding works. How much do you need? Ceiling projector?

Hi all, wanted to ask libraries with ceiling mounted projectors how those work. Toying with the idea of adding a couple to our meeting rooms, and I'm not sure how feasible that is. How are they hooked up for use? Do you need any other dedicated hardware (like a laptop) to use it? Would you say it has been worthwhile to have? Any suggestions or advice appreciated! CSLP Theme/Slogan 2028/2027! Have you ever thought about where summer library themes and slogans come from? Who thinks them up? How we select each year's slogan? Well, the answer is YOU! Each year the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) seeks feedback from Michigan library staff for future summer slogan and theme suggestions. Libraries from across the nation also contribute, and together, we come to consensus. Now is your time to be heard! Ideas/Advice for Adding Local Holdings Missed by Migration?

Hello all, My library migrated from Koha to OCLC WorldShare in August 2022, and it missed or excluded much of our print local holdings. The previous records are gone, so there's no recovering that. Has this happened to anybody else, and in your experience, is there a way to add your excluded local holdings without having to do an item-by-item manual add? That's what we've been doing since this was discovered in fall 2022 and we're nowhere near completion. Thanks for any and all words of advice!
