Suggests new and replacement materials. As we move out of our old facility into our new one, we have lovely Worden, walnut finished shelving we won't be moving. This includes 235 double sided units, 19 individual oversized units and some single-sided set up for periodical display units. Ancestry question

We have a patron who has in the past been able to use her own device on our library wi-fi to access Ancestry Library Edition. As of about a week ago, she cannot, nor can I do so using a personal device. Any ideas? Cindi L. NASA @ My Library will soon offer 2 telescope kits + activities for circulation to your library! (4 week checkout, circulation coming soon) Please consider attending one of the following workshops to learn how to use one. Tired of STEM?! Well, these workshops will re-energize you! NASA @ My Library STEM Workshops - https://libraryofmichigan.z2systems.com/np/clients/libraryofmichigan/eventL… Laurie Bone, Senior Curator of Programs at Sloan Museum and Longway Planetarium, will be providing a hands-on workshop for public library staff. These STEM workshops will cover the following content: • Overview of relevant astronomy terms and concepts • Strategies for effective deliver of STEM based activities for kids of all ages (children, teen, adults, families) • Ideas for Astronomy activities that librarians can use while developing their program plan • Materials to support at least one of the activities will be provided for each library. (1 per library in attendance) Materials will be provided for each participant to do the activities. This provides an opportunity for the librarians to practice doing the activity, have conversation with the group to identify ways to expand or customize the activity to better fit individual needs, and will provide each participant with a sample project for use in programming. NASA Facilitation kits will be available in the near feature from LM for libraries to borrow. If the workshop nearest you is full, you can either join the waitlist or attend at a different location. Microfilm Reader and Printer

Free to a good home: Before we discard it, perhaps somebody could use a microfilm reader and printer in good working order. It’s a Minolta MicroSP 2000 and matching Minolta printer. It’s been in regular use until now. See attached photo. The location is Genesee District Library Headquarters at 4195 W. Pasadena Ave., Flint. Just off I-75. The Visiting Digital Assets Librarian contributes to the acquisition, production, and management of the library’s digital assets and e-resources, and provides metadata and technical expertise to advance the library’s strategic goals in support of the university’s teaching, learning, and research endeavors. Candidates will apply best practices to digitization and preservation processes. Candidates will share knowledge of current models, practices, and tools used by academic libraries for the access and discoverability of e-resources. Candidates will demonstrate ability to prioritize, plan, coordinate, and implement projects. Candidates must demonstrate experience with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
