Hello, Recommending Corey Seeman if you are looking for a photography program which provides a useful and fun intro to the world of photography as a hobby. Corey is passionate about photography and very knowledgeable about digital photography management, when to use a phone vs. a digital camera while out taking photos, as well as nature photography and many other topics. NDL has hosted Corey a few times in the past but most recently he was here to talk about Nature Photography and it was a great presentation--patrons learned a lot and had some really good questions. Bookkeeping
by Cierra Bakovka 17 Jul '26

17 Jul '26

Hi all, Class 3 library here. We've had an outside company do our accounting for the last 5ish years. We've switched companies a couple times due to numerous mistakes and deadline issues and are most likely parting ways with our current company at the end of the year. While I do have a certificate in library financial management, the board is worried that me taking it all on will be overwhelming on top of the other projects we're working on (plus having another set of eyes is nice for internal controls). Besides switching companies again or having me takeover the accounting, the board is also wanting to look into hiring a bookkeeper for a few hours a month. Have any similar sized libraries done this? How did it go? What did it look like for you? Thanks! Cierra Bakovka, MLIS She/Her Director Henika District Library 149 South Main St. Wayland, MI 49348 269-792-2891 ext. 309 mailto:cierra@henikalibrary.org
