Children's Furniture and "Monkey Mitt" Fingerplay sets

Hi All, Please forgive my cross posting. Lyon Twp. Library has a children's size table with a set of four chairs to offer to any library who might be able to use them. They are too large to go through delivery, so you would need to pick them up. The Round Table is 25" tall with a 35.75" diameter. Chairs are 27.25" tall, 16" wide, and 15" deep. We also have a number of "Monkey Mitt" fingerplay sets. These will easily fit in a small mailing envelope, so just provide your library's MeL delivery number and I will send them over. Resources FAFSA Toolkit Getting your students to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) can have a high return on investment when it comes to post-secondary attainment in your building. Take Your Child to the Library Day is held annually on the first Saturday of February. Anyone Poets Out there?!

Are you a budding poet? Know someone who is? Know any students who are? Please spread the word that the Call for Poetry is out for our 26th year of Poet's Night Out! Any resident or student in Alcona, Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee, Montmorency, Oscoda, Otsego, Presque Isle, or Wexford county are invited to enter. Poet's Night out is a Northern Michigan juried poetry contest. You can find all the rules at tadl.org/pno. Click on HOW TO SUBMIT for rules as well as individual/classroom forms. Deadline for entering poetry is January 25, 2024. The in person Poet's Night Out event will be during Poetry Month on April 28, 2024 at the City Opera House in Traverse City. Winning poems will be published in the Poets’ Night Out chapbook, and winning poets will be asked to read their poem at this event. U.P. Notable Books List honors the year's best U.P. authors and their books

MARQUETTE, MI (January 2nd, 2023)— the *Upper Peninsula Publishers & Authors Association* (UPPAA) announces the 4th Annual U.P. Notable Books List this week. UPPAA Notable Books chairman *Mikel Classen* (Sault Ste. Marie) initiated the effort in 2019 as a response to the lack of representation of U.P. writers in other Michigan state literary circles. Classen said, “Traditionally, recognition of Michigan books has been dominated by the university presses downstate and we would like to take this opportunity to highlight literature that focuses closer to home for us.” *Evelyn Gathu*, Director of the Crystal Falls District Community Library, will continue the library's alliance with UPPAA to co-sponsor the U.P. Mount Clemens Public Library is dedicated to serving our community of over 19,000 residents.
