They demonstrate a commitment to student success, an understanding of the liberal education mission, and work collaboratively and independently within a dynamic, team-based organization. They will report to the Head of Professional Programs and be located on the Grand Rapids Campus. This position will give the selected candidate the opportunity to: *CREATE—* Liaison Librarians identify and implement new and emerging trends, best practices, and models in instruction and research support as well as scholarly engagement. They develop projects that align with their areas of focus and anticipate the future needs of the Libraries. *COLLABORATE— *Liaison Librarians work collaboratively to ensure that our instructional and research services are meeting the needs of our users. They have opportunities to work with faculty, staff, and students across the University. *LIBRARY ASSISTANT (PROGRAMMING & OUTREACH)* The Grand Ledge Area District Library is looking for an enthusiastic individual to create, plan, implement, and promote innovative programs including storytime, STEAM programs, crafts and reading/early literacy programs for all ages. Major duties include coordinating volunteers and connecting with community organizations to increase awareness of the library to meet the needs of the greater Grand Ledge community. Staff are responsible for a wide variety of clerical activities and considerable communication with and service to library patrons to ensure a positive library experience. This position also includes managing the circulation desk during assigned shifts, shelving and shelf reading of library materials. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and patrons of all ages, thrives on constant change and continuous improvement, embraces new technologies and appreciates fun-loving co-workers. *Schedule:* Some evening and weekend hours required. Current schedule: 20 hours/week - Mon 1pm-9pm; remaining hours TBD. Weekend hours are scheduled on a rotation basis. *Education & Experience*: Education normally acquired through the completion of a high school degree. Speech to text software for library PCs

Hi all, Have any of you installed speech-to-text software on publicly available computers? Something like Dragon Naturally Speaking, which allows you to dictate documents or even navigate the web using your voice. It seems Dragon requires people to create profiles, which is not ideal for the public library setting. Does anyone use this kind of software, and how is it going? Seeking guidance on two youth programs

Hello everyone, we have two different youth programs in our strategic plan that we are currently investigating, and I wanted to put out a call for advice, experiences, etc. from libraries who do similar programs. 1.) We are looking to start a networking group for mothers. 2.) We are hoping to coordinate a program for teen volunteers to partner with younger students and read to them.
