Kingsley Book Drop Cart Available for Sale

Hi all, We've got a spare Kingsley book drop cart available for sale to any library that's interested in coming to get it. It is similar to the one found at this link: https://www.kingsley.com/cushiondrop-library-book-media-transport-push-cart I've attached photos, too. Our Library Board would rather we sell it rather than give it away, so we're interested in all reasonable offers. We'll compile all the offers we receive and present them to the Board and then follow up with everyone who was interested once we get our response. Here's the measurements/specs: The total height of the bin and wheels = 39.5 inches high The bin is 26 inches on each side and is square The bin itself minus the wheels is 35 inches high It's got soft batting at the bottom, and a floating floor that moves down as more items are put in it. Works fine, we just have an extra we never use and the space that it's stored in could be used more effectively. I found a webcan that may do the job but I would like input from those who have used it or have used something similar that you would recommend. Executive Director - Florence-Lauderdale Public Library (AL) The Florence-Lauderdale Public Library Board of Directors seeks creative and engaged candidates for the position of Executive Director of the Library. The ideal candidate will provide leadership that puts patrons first by delivering innovative services for the community and by equipping the staff with the tools and support to provide those services. The Library is well-supported by a population of roughly 90,000 county residents in a 40,000 sq. ft. building with a dedicated staff (13 full-time and 10 part-time) and a budget of approximately $1.3 million. Funding is provided primarily by the city and county along with the generous support of the Library Foundation and the Friends of the Library group. The Florence-Lauderdale Public Library Executive Director has traditionally played a high-profile role in the community, and the position offers opportunities to represent the Library in many social contexts and before a variety of stakeholders. Florence and Lauderdale County is located in the northwest corner of Alabama on the banks of the Tennessee River in the heart of the Muscle Shoals region. Renowned for its place in American music and culture, a significant presence in the fashion industry, and a landscape rich in history and particularly Native history, this region offers many opportunities for personal and professional growth. The library is the center of a vibrant and picturesque downtown, blocks from the University of North Alabama, which anchors a cultural area that includes a city park, art centers, historic architecture, and museums. Florence has a long history and deep roots which are celebrated through such events as the Arts Alive Festival and the W.C. Handy Music Festival. The city of Florence has been recognized regionally and nationally as one of the best small towns in America for its beauty, temperate climate, short commute times, low cost of living, and economic stability. The Shoals area has long been famed for a musical heritage blending African American blues, jazz, country, gospel, and rock that is vibrant and thriving today. Responsibilities of the Executive Director include: developing a strategic plan that includes both short-term and long-term goals for Library operations; preparing and presenting the Library's budget proposal and monitoring and approving expenditures; guiding management staff in planning for services that meet the present and future needs of the community; hiring and supervising Library staff; identifying new revenue streams for the Library; and interacting regularly with local government representatives and community leaders. Minimum qualifications: three years of experience in library management and operations or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work. A Master's Degree in Library Science from an accredited institution, public library experience, and experience as a director reporting to a governing board is preferred. The Board strongly prefers that the successful candidate be or become a resident of the Florence-Muscle Shoals Metropolitan Statistical Area. Compensation. Participating public libraries and afterschool program partners will receive support to purchase materials you need to run a "Light & Shadow" based STEM program. Registration will be limited, so be sure to complete this interest form<https://forms.gle/zaRoh8AJmQSaYut68> by end of day, Friday, August 13th, for a chance to be selected. Leap into Science<http://leap.fi.edu/> is a nationwide program developed by The Franklin Institute Science Museum<http://www.fi.edu/> that integrates open-ended science activities with children's books, designed for children ages 3-10 and their families. The program empowers educators to offer workshops in community settings like libraries, museums, and out-of-school time programs to engage underserved audiences in accessible and familiar settings. Registering for and attending this training makes you a Partner Organization in our Michigan Cohort. As a Leap into Science partner organization, you are committing to: * Scheduling and leading at least three (3) Leap into Science virtual or in-person workshops for children and families by end of May 2022. * Posting each of your organization's workshops to The Connectory<https://theconnectory.org/>, a searchable directory for STEM programs across the country. * Leading Leap into Science activities during National Leap into Science Week (February 21-26, 2022) * Completing a workshop report following each workshop your organization hosts. * Participating in quarterly virtual check-in calls with other trained educators in your state. Each organization who participates in Leap into Science will receive: * A virtual training on high-quality science and literacy curriculum and facilitation strategies for 1-2 educators from your organization. * Ongoing support during program implementation as part of a Leap into Science National Network. * Access to the national Leap into Science leadership team and online resources. * A curriculum toolkit and funding for materials. * Opportunity to network and collaborate with out-of-school-time organizations in your region.
