POS System Compilation

Hi everyone, Thank you to those that replied to my post about different POS systems. Here is the info I received: 1. Comprise sells POS systems - it interacts with SAM. 2. We have been using a Square system. Purchased the Square cash register and scanners. It has worked extremely well and allows us to accept payment in many forms. Low transaction fees for card use. 3. We currently have an old cash register. 4. * Which company do you use? * Smart Money Manager by Comprise * Is there an annual fee, a set up fee, or both? * Yes - set up fee and annual maintenance both * Does it integrate easily into your ILS? * Fairly easily, yes, as far as real-time updating integration – but the SMM client is a separate application from the ILS so you need to do transactions in SMM then go back to ILS for checkouts, but after training that has not been a big deal * Is it user-friendly? * It’s fairly user-friendly for the staff to use, yes. Our biggest complaint from staff is that it forces password reset every 90 days and it enforces complex password rules, which I believe is necessary for the software to be PCI compliant. I will say that we’ve had some issues with the database not aligning with reports and have had to get their support involved on a few occasions, that’s been our main issue with it, THAT issue has not been user friendly for our accountant. Small Book Carrying Cases

Hello, Do you have recommendations for sturdy cases to hold small children's book sets (similar to the thin paper Bob books)? Our library received a donated Disney Learning Phonics Box Set that we want to add to our collection, and we would like to purchase more of these sets and shelve them with our beginning readers. The books came in an adorable cardboard carrying case that will not hold up with circulation, so I'm looking for something heavier weight that is not too long or wide so it fits on the shelf with other regular books. The books are just a bit too large to fit in DVD/audiobook/Playaway cases but I'd like something similar. Sign Your Library Up for the Free TALK Program<TextToLearn.com> Today! All libraries are encouraged to sign up for this important and FREE service to support the building of pre-literacy skills in your service populations. TALK: Text and Learn for Kindergarten sends fun activities parents can do with their babies and preschoolers at home. Developed by librarians and based on Every Child Ready to Read, TALK activities are designed to get kids ready for school success. The messages align with tips librarians share with parents at storytime, but because they are delivered via text message, you can reach parents you don't see at the library. Anyone in Michigan can sign up to receive the messages, but libraries that sign up to promote TALK can send two messages per month to users in their zip codes advertising library events and services, and get access to award-winning promotional materials, from flyers and yard signs to social media posts and QR codes. Tools and guides to help you develop community partnerships to reach parents you don't already see at the library are also included. CD Organizers/Storage

Hi Everyone, I have 5 units that were originally designed to house music CDs with sliding drawers. 4 of the units have the inserts and 1 does not. You certainly don't have to use these for the same purpose. I was thinking it might make a great storage for big books, crafting/making supplies and more. The possibilities are endless! The units measure approximately 3' high and 3 ½' wide. They can be yours for the low, low price of FREE. All you have to do is transport them from here to their new home.
