Wayne State University's School of Library and Information Science is offering Library Workforce Development "first class" scholarships to paraprofessional employees of libraries beginning their MLIS degrees in Fall 2017. The scholarship will pay tuition for their first class as MLIS students (approximately $2200). Students are required to register for a minimum of two classes in their first semester in order to receive this tuition award - additional financial aid may be needed. Library paraprofessionals from across North America are encouraged to apply. Applications are due by July 1, 2017. Hello - Do any of you allow AA meetings in your library? Do you have specific policies addressing them, or are they treated like any other meeting. Are they regular hours, or do you allow them to meet after-hours? Did you get "permission" from your Boards, or are they addressed in your meeting room policies? Please respond to me off list. Part-time Children's Librarian The Clarkston Independence District Library seeks an enthusiastic, organized individual to join a positive, team-oriented work environment. The primary responsibility is to provide reference and reader's advisory services to patrons at the Youth Services reference desks at the Southfield Public Library. REQUIREMENT: An A.L.A. accredited MLS degree is required Experience with providing reader's advisory and reference services for children in a public library setting is preferred. Sunday Hours Inquiry

SSLDL is coming to the end of it's first season being open on Sundays. We have collected some statistical data but we are wondering if any libraries have statistics for the second and subsequent years after being open Sundays. For instance, did Sunday attendance increase the second and subsequent years, decrease, or stay relatively the same? If you have this type of information, and would be willing to share it, please send me an email off list. I will be happy to share any responses that I get.
