Hello: As promised, I do have some information on FOIA requests. However, in lieu of posting the entire document on Michlib-L, I am directly sending it now to everyone who has posted about this on Michlib-L, and who has contacted me about it. All other Library & Coop Directors in Michigan will receive it Monday. And thanks to all who have submitted proposals in the 1st round. You are encouraged to get more specific about your plans. Where will the remote units be sited and who will be served at each new hotspot? Your prior submissions are now open for modification and improvement. After we review the updated (and new) more location-specific proposals, we will invite the most promising ones to contact vendors for price quotes and plan feasibility. There have been some very strong proposals already, but the door remains open. For two more weeks. Please be sure describe how each remote location is expected to be used, by whom and when. Include any disadvantaged populations (low-income, low-education, disabled, immigrants, etc). "Successful proposals will: * Support access and inclusion to underserved populations. * Show creativity in thinking of new ways and locations to install remote library WiFi access points. * Form key collaborations among community stakeholders such as schools, museums, health clinics, community centers, post offices, shelters, or who?! * Demonstrate commitment to the project from proposal partners and supporters as well as to the overall learning and knowledge base we'll be creating together. * Integrate TVWS in to disaster preparedness planning. Winning proposals will be announced next month in April. Sub-awards distributed upon final acceptance of a project budget. All projects should be installed and operational by September. Books lost in transit

Good afternoon, Two books were sent out from the Ann Arbor District Library on their way home to Homer Public Library. Unfortunately they have never made it home. The first book in Avatar: the last airbender. The Rift Part One and it was sent out on January 9th, 2017. The second book is a board book call Excuse Me: A Little Book of Manners and it was sent out on December 28th, 2016. library shelving and carrels

The first week of April we are condensing our library collection from 4 floors to 2 in preparation of a renovation and new library construction. We will have shelving and study carrels from those two floors available for sale. After the 18 mos construction period we will have 2 more floors of shelving and carrels available, Has anyone ever sold leftover library shelving? or know of ways to find future homes for it? This is Worden Furniture, wood, walnut stained shelving. Once I have an idea of the best way to make this available I can post specifics. Auto-Graphics & MeLCat statistical figures

This question is specifically for libraries who use Auto-Graphics VERSO with NICP and MeLCat. In running my statistical reports in VERSO for January, I noticed under the statistical section usually reserved for MeLCat transactions a significantly abnormal "renewal" statistic for the month, and then traced it back to two dates: January 3rd (254 renewals in a collection normally at 0 for renewals) and January 22nd, a Sunday, (61 renewals in a collection normally at 0 for renewals and on a date we are closed). I'm trying to trace this problem back to figure out which help desk to contact and whether this is a local problem or a system problem. If you are a VERSO NCIP library on MeLCat and could just let me know yes or no if you have noticed a statistical anomaly (particularly on those two dates), I would really appreciate it.
