Director - Montgomery County Public Libraries (MD) Montgomery County Public Libraries<https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/library/> (MCPL) seeks an engaging and experienced executive leader who, through effective leadership, will model excellent customer service skills and deliver 21st century library service to the residents of Montgomery County, MD. The ideal candidate for this position will possess experience as a leader in a complex organization and demonstrated success as a manager and supervisor in a diverse and high impact environment. MCPL serves approximately 1.2 million residents from 22 locations with a $49 million budget and 384.6 FTE. In 2022, MCPL had 554,892 active users, 189,168 attendees at 7272 programs, and circulated 7.7 million items, ranking it among the highest circulating libraries in Maryland. As a principal department of the County Government, the Director reports to and is directly supervised by the Chief Administrative Officer of Montgomery County, while also working closely and cooperatively with the advisory Montgomery County Library Board, local Library Advisory Committees and Friends of the Library, Montgomery County. lavalier microphone and speaker for meeting rooms

Hi all! We have a couple mid-sized meeting rooms that are just big enough to need a bit of sound amplification (especially for programming directed at our Senior audiences). I'm looking for something that is SUPER easy to setup and handsfree. My idea here is that outside groups could use it for their events held in those rooms as well. Anyone have a great setup that you would want to share with us?? Our big rooms have microphones built in. This would be for rooms with a capacity of 40 or fewer. Thank you!! JOB TITLE: Youth Services Librarian REPORTS TO: Community Relations Manager CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt; Union position HOURS: Full-Time (40 hours per week) Deadline: Until Filled Salary: $23.25/hr. The Genesee District Library is seeking a full-time, energetic, team-oriented, tech savvy Youth Services Librarian with a strong commitment to public service. Ideal candidate is passionate about serving children, teens, families, and educators. Responsible for programming and community outreach from birth to teens, fostering partnerships and leading literacy efforts in Genesee County. The Genesee District Library is a Class VI system of 19 libraries in Genesee County, and the third largest library system in Michigan. Help us inspire our youth to become lifelong learners. Responsibilities include: Evaluates program needs and assists in carrying out services district-wide for children and young adults. Participates in the scheduling and training of outside story time providers. Provides youth services information via various digital platforms. Partners with area schools and other agencies to promote collections and services offered to children and young adults. Builds strong community bonds by working with community leaders. Contributes to social media with well written, grammatically correct posts. Stays current in new library services and trends in youth services through reading, seminars, workshops, webinars, and conferences. Routinely seeks out and identifies sources for grant funding opportunities. Prepares well written and documented grant proposals specific to children and youth services. Attends outreach events in schools and community. Requirements for the position include: Master's degree in library or information science from an American Library Association accredited library school. A minimum of a Level 2 certification by the Library of Michigan within ninety (90) days of hire. One year of professional experience in a library. Must enjoy working with children while creating a high-quality experience for the children, parents, or guardians. Strong proficiency with electronic databases, Microsoft Office applications, social networking sites and mobile technology. Ability to get along with diverse personalities and populations. Ability to work as a team or independently within a fast-paced environment. Will be required to: Work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours, around programs, events and community outreach. Work Environment: The location of the work site is primarily the GDL Headquarters location. Significant travel throughout the district to attend or conduct library programs and other literacy events. The location will vary between branches of the Genesee District Library System, and the schedule will vary according to the needs of the public and the GDL System. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid Michigan driver's license and vehicle for use on company business. Successful completion of a background check. Spine label maker?

Hi all, Excuse any cross posts, I asked TLN a couple of weeks ago and only got a few responses. I am interested to know what everyone uses to make spine labels? And the vendor you use? We currently use K-Sun Pear Label 270. We have had these 8+ years and we really like the ease(we use a template in Word), quality and style in making labels. We are only looking to upgrade/replace because I’m not sure how much time we have left on these machines and I want to be prepared.
