After a stressful week of bullying here at Putnam District Library, I filed this complaint moments ago. Anyone have a vendor the recommend and trust that you purchase your labor law posters from? Thanks, in advance. Thank you for using the Better Business Bureau's Online Complaint System. Your complaint has been assigned case # 89064673. Correspondence regarding this complaint will be emailed to : sswantek@putnamlib.org Please print a copy of this for your records. Filed on : August 7 2015 Filed by : Shauna Swantek 237 N Main Street Nashville MI 49073 Filed against : Personnel Concepts Limited Complaint Description: This company's sales tactics are beyond aggressive. They have wasted hours of staff time by repeatedly calling and bullying staff members. We have purchased our Labor Law posters from this company at various times in the past. They have not been our only supplier but we have used their product to save money by switching companies periodically. We will NEVER do business with them again. They have repeatedly called our business over the last month. Their verbiage is alarming and threatening ... making front line staff feel panicked and concerned. They have tried to get staff to make purchases they aren't authorized to do based on fear tactics. They refuse to take NO for an answer. I told them I receive their emails and will contact them if I need anything, but that did not help.Today, they harassed the Assistant Director for 15 minutes and then demanded my personal phone number saying our account was "flagged".When I arrived, I spoke with the salesperson and demanded to be removed from their contact list stating that we will not do business with them again and not to contact us further. Shauna, I saw your message and thought I’d reply as the State Law Library often gets questions about this topic. Although it requires gathering materials from a number of agencies, workplace posters are generally available online for no cost. MIOSHA workplace posters may be found online (it is better to call the office directly for some of the posters as they may be hard to print) at http://www.michigan.gov/lara/0,4601,7-154-11407_30453-174563--,00.html. There is also a link at the bottom of this page to a list of posters required by other federal and state agencies. Just to note, the list is due to be updated in a couple of weeks. If you have any trouble finding it, let me know. I’ll put the information on the MeL Legal Gateway. Thanks Kim State Law Library Library of Michigan Michigan Library and Historical Center 702 W. The MIOSHA Workplace Posters link is now on the MeL Legal Gateway under both the “Common Michigan Legal Questions” and “Michigan State Agencies” links. As the documents and links on the site are maintained by MIOSHA, I can’t be sure of when they will be updated and released, but you can always find the MIOSHA posters here as well as the link to the federal and larger state list. The latter opens as a Word doc - look for the “Poster List” link at the bottom of the text: Our Poster List<http://www.michigan.gov/documents/cis_wsh_cet0155_120262_7.doc> includes other department required posters and their contact information. <http://www6.dleg.state.mi.us/Parsers/safety_posters.asp>Place an Online Request<https://w2.lara.state.mi.us/MIOSHAPublications/?SortOrder=&Search=&Type=&Topic=MIOSHA+Workplace+Posters> for copies of the above posters. I also included the link that Kate Andrade sent covering the US Dept of Labor website under the MeL Legal Gateway “Federal Issues” link – thank you Kate! I have had the same experience as Shauna and still get letters from them frequently. I don't bother to open them anymore. I have been through the emotions and fear of not buying their products or even being turned in by their company and being fined thousands of dollars. The City Finance Director told me that as a city library their posters were good enough to cover for us. These callers kept it up until finally, a few years ago, I bought again. Never again. Thank you, Kim, for the information you provided. That company is out to make money, and what better way than intimidation. I hope everyone will be free from these emails and know there is an easier, less-expensive way. You can obtain all of the required posters for free - some of the state & federal agencies will send them upon request, or you can print them at your library. You just have to stay vigilant that you have the most current version(s) in the event there's a change. Details can be found here: http://www.michigan.gov/lara/0,4601,7-154-11407-174563--,00.html and here: http://www.dol.gov/oasam/boc/osdbu/sbrefa/poster/matrix.htm There's a link to the list of required posters toward the bottom of the page from Michigan.gov. kate On Fri, Aug 7, 2015 at 10:46 AM, Shauna Swantek < putnamlibrary.director@yahoo.com> wrote:
