USPTO Special Presentation at Lawrence Tech: Wed. May 20, 2015

Lawrence Technological University will be hosting a special presentation on Wednesday May 20, 2015 at 4:00 pm from the Elijah J. McCoy Detroit Satellite Office of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO): *101 Post-Alice: How USPTO and Practitioners are Reacting* "Alice" refers to a legal decision by the Supreme Court in the Alice Corp. vs. CLC Bank International about what aspects of technology can and cannot be patented. The decision will have a major impact on the Circuit Courts as they begin deciding upcoming cases. This lecture and panel discussion is of interest to people in the legal profession, electrical and computer engineering, engineering, game design, and software design . Any entrepreneurs, inventors, business people, and profession als who create and protect Intellectual Property will benefit from this session . There is no admission charge, and everyone is welcome to attend. Lawrence Tech is honored to be the first to host this lecture for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Midwestern tour. The legal lecture will be followed by a panel discussion will run from 4:00 to 5:00 pm, followed by a question and answer period until 5:30 pm. The Marburger Auditorium is located in the Science Building (S100) in Building #14 on the campus map (http://www.ltu.edu/map/). There is plenty of free parking in either Lot D or Lot C, which are closest to the Science Building.
